I was wondering the same thing as the last comment...is it worth lightly sanding the corroded area inside to see if there is enough metal left to safely create a flat enough surface to get the O-ring to seal. Is that float bowl specific to Clinton or is it just a Tecumseh bowl? A used one on eBay perhaps? ..I recognize you are going to lose your shirt on this job so you gotta stopsomewhere...cool vid on the realities of working on older stuff. I really learn a lot from your vids. I really like the long form step by step on this video. Please do more of these..
@@toddmaersch7200 Thank you I really appreciate your input. I will look into sanding it. I saw an engine on FB market place...1.5hp. The engine looks very similar. If sanding does not work, maybe the owner will part with it cheaply enough to frankenstien something together.
So you are referring to a temporary fix to see if the engine will even run? Rather than spend the time to fix the bowl then find out it was not worth the effort? I suppose...even with the existing leak it has, it "should" have adequate fuel for a test run.
Great vid. Is there a way you can just resurface the inside of the float bowl to make it work? Yes, I would like to see it run.
If you mean perhaps sand it down and make it smooth again? Maybe, just depends on the thickness of the metal.
Yes, or put a coating on it?
@pincfitnesspunishmentinc7429 I am not aware of a coating, but I will take a look at it again to see about sanding it flat. Thank you.

Could the float be modified for test run and determine if more time investment is worth it?

Yes exactly, just a test run however possible just to see there aren’t other issues compounding👍
