Amazing he was already one of the all-time greats by this point and still had almost 40 years (and counting) of great films to give us. What a legend.

it's rare to someone on television so absolutely awkward and stressed out, it's humanizing. it took awhile but Marty did actually start to calm down, he was literally shaking at the start, credit to Dave.honestly might be one of my favorite interviews I've seen by a late night host, Dave kept the momentum moving and got a compelling interview, despite Marty being as nervous as a rabbit in a fox hole. really masterclass hosting.

Marty has gotten better with interviews throughout the years. Here, he looks so nervous and uptight. Where as today, he can talk for hours so confidently.

According to what other people are saying here, he had kicked the habit by 1983.

King of Comedy is one of Scorsese's most underappreciated films. It's worth seeing if only to appreciate the heavy influence on Joker (2019), which puts De Niro in the role Jerry Lewis played in King of Comedy.

Better at directing than public speaking, much like his sidekick actor, Bob DeNiro's mastery in acting versus speaking in interviews.
