The marimba piece was a song from the cartoon the backyardigans “we are castaways.” it was a trending song on the internet at one point. Probably why it sounds familiar! 👍

That marimba piece is castaways from the kids show the Backyardigans, and Adam Neely did a whole video about it: th-cam.com/video/uVAGjfFmFkw/w-d-xo.html
8:20 The Marimba piece here is Castaways from the popular Nick Jr. Show, The Backyardigans. It (among with other songs from The Backyardigans) became popular on TikTok mid-2021.
8:19 is the song "Castaways" from the children's show "the Backyardigans." It became quite popular on the music side of Tiktok last year. EDIT: Last year being when this video came out, not the year before.
I’m a cymbal tech and cymbal player and the first thing I noticed was ur fingers staying on the cymbals when u crashed and sizz suck make sure to take them off durning the crash so the cymbal resonates But me and some of the other marching southerners cymbals players love quoting you from your drumline video and will always say “Ow my nipple” lmao, keep up the great work!
I love your channel. Your drumming is excellent! As for mallets, your technique is very good but remember its opposite from drumming. Every millisecond you contact the bar, from not initial but residual contact creates a damping effect, and differentials in the intonation. Mallet instruments demand the lightest touch to produce the best sound. Each key has a necessary pressure of contact to produce the richest sound at any dynamic. As best as I can tell you have a 4.6 octave marimba with graduated tubes; imagine your strokes hitting the bottoms caps of the resonator tubes and instantly lifting up. Each note basically has a different optimal striking pressure, and the dynamic is effected by the height of the stroke (the inertia) not the pressure (or how hard you hit the bar).
I'm curious what you could do on various sized pieces of wood with a pair of nail guns, but I'm guessing that would fall into the "too dangerous" category.
Around 8:30 Eric says he recognizes the song… it may be a parody but I remember it from the backyardigans. When they’re singing about being castaways. “We are castaways”
I want to be as cool as the one random guy jamming out on a xylophone in the parking lot. This was at a marching event right before we performed. Only I noticed this legendary figure. Items been 4 years, but I'm on that level of cool now
*Video 25* of Loopy Grandma asking Lil' Peanut dressed as a surfer dude to play -Wipe Out by the Ventures- *Any surfer song* !!! ... Great for another video using the kit!!! And I know you are very creative, so I expect something EPIC! (Wipe Out would cause video to be copywrite claimed!) ...
I really like watching videos while im watching speedruns, this is the rare time it becomes confusing, since i am also watching someone speedrun dkr...
Hey EMC! You should watch the American Fork Marching Band 2021 show. The entire opener is a percussion feature. Very drum and pit heavy. You would enjoy it.
