Hi Simon, once again a great short informative video! I was one of your subscribers that that put the Road 6s on my Multistrada V4s and registered with you the impressive transformation they made to both the bike and my confidence. Just part exchanged to the new V4s Rally, taller and heavier which leaves the Scorpions more challenged! I've kept the Road 6s which had only 350 miles on ready to install on the Rally after its first service. Will keep you all posted! Tony Mcintyre (aged 70)
Thanks for the comment Tony, you were certainly right about the tyres. It’s a big decision sometimes for people to change because some always feel the stock tyres are the best. I’m actually looking forward to a wet ride now or even a track day again on the multistrada 👍
Hi Simon, i have put a set of road 6 on my msv4 last summer i have done 16500k with them and think i will do 22 k, im very impressed with the feeling confort and longevity of these.
I totally agree Simon - excellent tyres indeed. And I can tell you that they are unbelievably sticky in the rain too. Like you I bought my own - no link to Michelin!
Thanks for the review Simon. I replaced my scorpions with the Perelli Angels and I’m not really impressed, but based on your review of the Pilots, I’ll give them a try when I’m done with my current set (probably about 3 or 4k miles) from now. I’m at 15k miles on my V4S. Always enjoy your videos
The comments coming through on the road 6 are all positive and I’ve got to agree. I’m sure there are other tyres that work well but these are a big improvement on the trail 2s. Thanks for the comment Chris. Ride safe 👍
Excellent video Simon, just fitting new boots to my MS V4S, after some deliberation between Road 6 and Roadtec 01 SE I have gone for the Metzeler. Haven’t ridden on them yet as waiting on delivery of the front tyre. I had ridden 5600 miles on the Scorpian Trail II, there was still tread left but the rear was squared off and the front uneven tread, the bike was squirming and white lining over road irregularities so time to replace them, good tyre up to that point though. Can’t wait to try the Metzeler’s👍
Thanks for the comment Al, theirs so much tyre choice around, it’s always a conscientious difficult decision. I didn’t looks at to many other choices but I’m really bad at making decisions, so it would be interesting to see what you think about yours. I did think the same about the scorpion tyres, they just didn’t give me the confidence I was hoping for. The road 6 still need to prove themselves as all tyres are good on a warm dry day. Only time will tell. Enjoy the new rubber Al 👍
Like everything Tyres are subjective and everyone have their favourites or preferences. I had Roadtec 01’s fitted to a GTR1400 used in all weathers and they were brilliant. They had excellent Ride quality, sweet steering, and confidence inspiring whatever the conditions.
I have the Road 6s on my Multistrada V4S the main thing i have noticed is the are a stiffer tyre than the Scorpion 2. They seem to also wear really slow after 1500 miles they still look like new.
Thanks for the comment Steve, there’s normally a compromise with sticking tyres and that’s generally because they wear out quicker. So it’s good to know the longevity of the tyre, as there’s a lot of power going through the rear wheel. I’m super happy with them. 🏍️💨💨💨👍
Thanks for the comment 👍 and welcome to the channel. Fantastic bike you won’t be disappointed. If your riding all weathers then stick with the road 6 for sure. March is only round the corner now 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Hi Simon , never had any off the Michelin . I travel about 9k miles a year and used met 01se and angel GT2. But got Dunlop road smart 4 and handle really well ...
That’s good to hear, it’s always difficult picking a tyre because theirs so much choice and we can get overwhelmed with looking and researching. I don’t think there’s any bad tyres i think it’s more personal choice. I took my multistrada v4 on track with trail tyres on and they still did the job lol
Looking forward to you exploring the extra 15 percent in the wet lol ,my 23 v4s stays dry only and on the tarmac hopfully the right way up !,with no steering damper I'd be worried about tank slapper using sportier rubber .
I’m surprised they don’t come with steering dampers. I’ve had wobble a couple of times. I didn’t mind a bit of wet riding but I’ve just had to replace the rear bearing due to water getting in. As soon as it rains I’m out there 😂👍
Don’t forget next time you are down that way , take the 6047 all the way to market Harborough, but come back on the b664 market Harborough to Uppingham road. Are you still thinking of Ireland for one of your tours ?
Il definitely get on the section of road sometime soon. The 6047 is just a easy one for me with the tyre test. I’m still going to do Ireland 🇮🇪 I’m going to try and fit it in later this year if the weathers ok.
@@thatbikersimon I think I have mentioned before that I have been riding to the South west of Ireland twice a year for the past 8 years I will email you some great “insider intel” for some spectacular single track mountain roads in the south west of Ireland, most of which are generally unknown as a lot of bikers head for the “headline routes” such as ring of Kerry etc. and ride right past this great single track roads
Simon hi, the Road 6 you used on your multistrada are regular road 6 or road 6 GT please? I am thinking about getting those for my Multistrada so wanted to know if regarding Road 6 will be ok based of load index for Multistrada.
@@thatbikersimon cheers... I've the same bike but was reluctant to put R6's on because on my previous bikes that's all I ran with although it did give them a bit more height. The v4s is tall enough for me without adding more height that's why I was interested...🍻🍻
@@outandabout67 I always use the auto suspension reduction when I’m about town ect just because I have the same issue with the bike bikes but I never thought there was a difference with the road 6, but I was more interested in the wet performance but looks like il have to wait a bit for that test now. But they are a better tyre than the stock for sure 👌

I just need a bit of rain now lol. I think it important to have that wet grip especially in the uk. 👍
At least the biking weather has finally arrived…!! Looks like a fun ride out ☀️
It’s amazing bikergirl.. it was a perfect day for a tyre test 😎

I'm on Michelin Ankee from new 6000 miles still got 12 months riding in them was thinking about Michelin R6 for my next set 😊
I’ve not tried the Michelin Ankee tyres pops, but the road 6 definitely make a sporty feel. 👍🏍️💨💨💨

@@thatbikersimon Thanks Simon, I will let you know how I get on with Roadtec 01 SE’s.
Metzlers do not have near the grip that Road 6s have, especially in the wet or cold.

I'm still on Road 5 and have been for years, they last forever and have excellent grip. IMHO any road going bike that can mount these tyres, should

Mine are regular road 6 tyres. I don’t think at the time the GT ones were a option.

Pirelli Rosso 4 on my PP 👍🏻👌🏻

You should try the Dunlop Sportsmart TT tires :)
