I’m so glad McNeil is getting on a hot streak
I noticed a slight change in his stance so I hope he's changed his approach because it seems to be working.
That is huge He is a batting champ. He just inexplicably scuffled the first half If he can hit like normal then he can start primarily in RF & we can play Iglesias who doesn’t bring power but brings clutch hitting, defense, & strong intangibles. Plus we could possibly bring up top prospect Luisangel Acuna who has a nice power/speed blend to platoon with Iglesias. He could add another spark to this offense.
Our starting pitching is solid & our offense is potent. We do need production out of RF with Marté hurt & Stewart slumping but trading for a RF isn’t critical if McNeil breaks out. As we all know it’s our middle relief that has been a weakness. We need to add a top reliever or two to bridge the gap between the starters & Diaz. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have a reliever like a lefty with closing experience who can close on days when Diaz needs rest. Perhaps Josh Hader?
We cannot part with our top prospects though. Jett the Met, Drew Gilbert, Ryan Clifford, Acuna, Christian Scott, Blade Tidwell & Brandon Sproat should all be considered untouchables. I’d trade Parada, Hamel, Vasil or Ramirez but only for something substantial & controlable - no rentals. We already got burnt on the Baez for Crow-Armstrong trade. The Kellenic for Diaz package worked out in out favor luckily.

@@KenjiMapes I doubt Acuna will pan out as a major league player, even if he does he's years away still. His OPS in AAA is just .680. Also I wouldn't call our starting pitching solid, its been just ok

Hopefully McNeil will have a good rest of the season and Senga is ready to pitch but I'm skeptical about him.

Nice game fellas. Couple of interesting innings. 4th inning Bader getting caught looked like a pitch out. How about a wide right fast ball to a lefty and a missed by the catcher. 5th bases loaded 0 out and one run via hits batsman. And Lindor’s second HR caught by a Mets fan! Iglesias getting it done at the plat and in the field. Hope he continues his fine play and turns into an extension for a couple of years. He deserves it. #LFGM
