Time traveller: walks up to soldiers... “What war are you fighting?” Soldiers: “The Great War” Time traveller: “You mean World War One?” Soldiers: “World War *WHAT!?* “
Well yes, but also no. You see there were many soldiers who survived World War One and then fought in World War Two even though not obliged. For example the Seabees (U.S. engineering veterans) and the Wäffen S.S. (veteran corps).
I'm personally glad that at least this 15 year old boy has a grasp of the history, and of what happened on the beaches of Normandy during WW2. To many of the younger generation have no idea of sacrifices made by the young men of that generation ( but they can tell you all about the lives of the latest pop star ). Congratulations on a fantastic build young man, and for knowing the history behind it.

I’m really impressed that this 15 year old has a real grasp of history. This an outstanding Moc that I’ve seen. It tells what really happened in Omaha Beach. The gore, the petrified soldiers, the ones missing body parts, the drowning ones, ones hiding in everything they could find, everyone getting hit in the blink of an eye, and the frightening feeling of being killed by the deadly MG42. This kid took a true grasp of history. I am really impressed.
The only negative I can find is the faces he used. Too many smiling heads. They should be nothing but fear, grit, or death... Anyone smiling during the invasion was either a sociopath or in the throes of Major PTSD.
@@braedonbates7889 No you are completely wrong, they all landed in Normandy. The British and Canadians landing in codename Sword, Gold and Juno beach. The Americans landing in Utah and Omaha with Rangers landing in Point du Hoc to takeout beach guns. You literally have all the time in the world to try and contradict someones comment with correct information online and you failed miserably.
The only beach that had heavy casualties (more than 1000) 2000-5000+ was Omaha beach and that is why no one cares about the British and Canadians. Though I agree, a moc-up set created about the hand to hand fighting within the villages just off Juno, Sword, Gold beaches would be cool too.
I'm sure others have said it, but I'm happy that this kid pays attention to the past, and really grasps the idea of just how horrific it was. The Moc isn't overdone, and where I see alot of people go wrong in d day mocs is they put way to much water. This kid is a living legend. Dang dude!
that is very cool! well done! sadly, you can not do that violent battle justice through lego bricks, nor anything else. the things that all soldiers go through is too horrific to describe.
i still dont know how those soldiers managed to take omaha with all the machine gun fire and mines. they pretty much ran out in the open whilst they were getting mowed down. incredible. this is an amazing build btw
By mid morning the Germans were winning the battle but the Germans retreated back because they couldn’t get reinforcements after they were low on ammunition
A few mistakes like the beach wooden barriers should be turned 180° the idea was the ship would ram it and go up and hit the mine or get stuck on the barrier, besides that a bit to populated and tanks wear present on the second and third wave
Americans only. Real nice. Definitely no English, Canadians, French or Austalians. As well as no Axis powers then. It was just america vs americs then.
I love studying WW2 and D-Day was my favorite battle! I make stop motion and want to do a video about WW2. Can you tell me where you got your soldiers, and vehicles from?
Out of every soldier on d-day, there had to have been one that was at the front of his higgins boat and right before it dropped, said "10 points to whoever catches my helmet"
That's no explosion. That was a coincidental waterspout that made that soldier do a dual summer sault and jaw dropped the germans allowing the allies to break through. Now he's famous because he did a summer sault mid war.
Amazing build! (But I think you should also have used actual docs as a model since as in saving pvt Ryan, you put the logs structures are turned in the wrong direction, like in the movie)

This moc reminds me of the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan
Did you listen to the interview? He said he based much of this moc on the opening scenes.
The only negative I can find is the faces he used. Too many smiling heads. They should be nothing but fear, grit, or death... Anyone smiling during the invasion was either a sociopath or in the throes of Major PTSD.
kaspur3 I had made that comment before I saw that part
I am very interested too, but do not have enough legos to build something like this
I like the bullet holes on the sea wall
looks cool

Why can’t be this a real LEGO set
Patatasuper I think it might be bigger than the LEGO Taj Mahal which is the biggest LEGO set so size is an issue
Patatasuper probably cuz lego thinks it’s too violent
The piece count would be enormous into the tens of thousands and also the gore in it

Satanic Cheese Puff take away the blood, some of the soldiers and shortem the beach to only like 1 1/2 or 2 baseplates

Is it the one on the hill firing? It's a FlaK 36 8.8cm Anti Aircraft/Tank gun
The flak gun?
It’s called a flak 38 88 mm just thought I’d say
FlaK stands for "Flugabwehrkanone" wich means anti-aircraft-gun.
Just for the case you wanted to know it 👍
Great detail and God bless all the brave soldiers we lost is that war
Awesome moc good job

‘The brown log traps’ are actually the wrong way around and the mines where placed along them so the boats would flip if they went up them

This is so American Bias, there were others like the British, Canadians, ect
Americans just like to take all the credit
That's not true for every one. Where are you from?
This just dday ground battle... not the whole operation
It's not like he said only the Americans took part in this operation, buts it's simply a section where Americans were.
This moc is only showing a part from Omaha or Utah beach, which Americans landed
Every single d-day moc is American bias. They’re all the exact same thing. D-Day is the most overdone moc idea ever in this community.
My next door neighbour is 96 he was at the Norman day beach he told me there was just blood everywhere and peoples arms flying off.
