I have to share a funny about this song. Jack Daniel (David's former music director) used to joke that when David hit the long note in this song he could go get a cup of coffee, come back and David would be still holding that note. LOL.

At 2:19, the camera quickly show Maggie Beth and she has the sweetest expression on her face watching her Dad perform this song. She must have heard him sing thousands of times, yet still has the same admiration and awe we have for David. Thanks once more Lyle for bringing Davis to us. 💕
I bought both thevl CD and DVD of his Freedom (from the Gaithers and travelling). He came back home to his wife, his children and his parents. His sister plays the trumpet with the symphony in Boston and she is on this album as well. His daughter Maggie Beth is sitting on a stool in the background and his good friend Charlotte Richie sings not only background vocals but sings the Revelation Song on his Freedom album as well.

However, I told Lyle that David has written or co-written and recorded about 20 more that are not in this list. He is getting an impressive collection!

I did all the research using the internet confirming with the sheet music as I could find it because I noticed way back then how difficult it was to find what he had composed. I think that is a shame because I believe several of his compositions, arrangements and orchestrations are as amazing and underrated as his voice. However, I have all the CDs too except his first and should have checked the liners for comparison. I 'm sure you can work out the problem because they'll realize that your playing their music and for them it will get their music out there to more fans who will want to buy their dvd's and CD's.
