How To Make Scorpion Island In JUNE! NO FIREFLIES TUTORIAL! Animal Crossing New Horizons Guide!

- As I’m recording this it will work in both hemispheres a northern will produce scorpions and southern will produce tarantulas. The process is the same regardless of your location.
I posted a video about this last week and there are a lot of questions about the way this works. So in today’s video I’m going to give you the complete ultimate breakdown and step by step guide on how to make scorpion island. If you’re new here please thumbs up this video, leave us a command and hit that subscribe button. Now before we get started o do need to mention:
The most important part of this whole thing is you MUST go to the island between 7pm-4am according to your systems time. You cannot go there at 6pm and wait until 7pm. It won’t work. You absolutely positively 100% have to go between 7pm and 4am. No if ands or buts.
The first step to this whole process is to get your inventory prepped for this process. This means you want to bring at least two axes, not flimsy axes, real axes. You’ll be cutting down trees so it’s important to gave the right tools. I’m also bringing along 3 bug nets and a shovel. That’s it. You won’t need anything else, other than a book mile ticket of course.
The second step in making this island is to land on an island that is favorable. This means you either need to land on bamboo island or you need to land on a one tier island. Today it was not fortunate enough to land on bamboo Island, but I did find a great one to your island to work with. Bamboo island is usually better because there’s no lakes or ponds that will spawn water bugs. Additionally this is much easier if you are on an island where it is raining. It does not have to be raining, but when it is raining there’s actually a higher chance of spotting tarantulas or scorpions after we’ve cleared the entire island.
Now it’s time to clear the island. I get a lot of questions about this, so here’s the breakdown.
Flowers - you must pick every flower, however, you do not have to dig them up. Leave them where they are.
Weeds - you must pick every week. Leaving just one weed can be detrimental to this process.
Trees - all trees must be cut down and the stumps will need to be dug up. Additionally, all Of the holes will need to be filled.
Rocks - must be broken and removed from the island. I usually do not hit them with my ax and I’ll show you why in a minute.
Extra items in inventory once completed - items from tour inventory can be left on the rocks on the beach. I do want to mention, the bug on the rocks will still spawn even if you drop items. Dont forget to scare away those bugs frequently.
Step 3 is to clear the island. I usually start on one side and work my way over to the other. I leave the tree stumps and the rocks. I don’t hit the rocks until I come back around. This is so that I’m not switching between items. It speeds up the progress this way and if I hit the rocks with my ax, then it’ll break faster and I lose the risk of not being able to chop all the trees down. You can certainly craft more if needed, but there’s no Garuntee that there will be enough resources on the island to do so.
Once you only have tree stumps and rocks remaining, take out your shovel. I prefer to hit the rocks and get resources, then eat a fruit to break it. If you are planning to fill up you’re full inventory with just bugs, then don’t worry about the resources and break the rock.
Go back through your island and dig up all of the stumps and break the rocks.
Finally the island is clear! If you don’t want the resources and items from the island, go to the nearest rock and drop them off. Yeah that one scorpion I caught at my dock as I was headed to the island.
Now it’s time to take out your favorite net and catch those scorpions.
Keep in mind it’s very important to scare away any bugs you see. I also will catch and release water bugs. I don’t do anything about the mole crickets. I just ignore them and it’s never caused an issue.
You’ll probably go through a lot of nets. So when you’re net breaks, go buy another, or just bring a lot of nets!
Now I want to be fully transparent here. You May run around for quite a while before you find a scorpion. It depends on what island you’re on. I find they tend to spawn in bunches. I might run around for 5 minutes and then catch 3-5 of them and then run around for another 5 minutes and not see one. This isn’t like being on the real scorpion island. It takes time and patience. If you’re looking to come fill your inventory in 15 minutes then head hone and cash them in for a small fortune, then I’m sorry to disappoint you, but it’ll take a little longer than that.
Once youve caught as many as you want you can head home and sell your bugs. I want to know how much you guys make! Leave me a comment letting me know your grand total. I stated on the island for one hour and kept a few water bugs. My total after that hour was 146,000 bells

not only did they nerf the spawn rate for bugs but they nerfed the rate for anything good in general. they’re making this game so irritating. i understand why they do these things but they’re packing on and on , it’s so annoying. my pov is the whole one island per console and the spawn rates of islands and bugs, along with the random interest rate knockdown by 90%. i love animal crossing so much but they’re taking so many things away that made the game fun.
I thought all hope was lost. Gonna go find bamboo island again!

DanieG Gaming happened to find a rainy bamboo island while searching for a new villager. Followed the usual steps and filled my inventory real quick. 45 mins from start to finish. Def still works while raining. I had up to 3 spawning at once
What are the odds of getting a bamboo island and is there anything I can do to increase this? I keep getting shitty two-tiered islands that don’t work for this
When i enter a island like that i get rid of everything on the island and then dig holes on any hills. This makes scorpions and tarantulas spawn on the first level of the mystery island

Yeah. A lot of really good fishes in the river this month and I've been earning tons of money from it. I just save up butterflies now and wait for Flick and earn 200k bells from him.
Actually, the last time I went on a mystery island in hopes to find scorpions, I ended up getting a lot of much more valuable fish and sharks than actual bugs, plus, when CJ visits it gets even better sense more fish sell for over $15000 rather than just $8000 like bugs
I tried clearing the flat island with the pine trees twice but haven't had scorpions spawn for me. Has anyone else?

Oh I’ve found out that, even though it might be kinda hard and idk if it will work, I don’t find fireflies on Money Rock Island, even though there is freshwater, so idk take that as you will

I am on a island now that I’ve cleared like in the vid, but butterflies keep spawning. I went to the island before 7pm (when butterflies spawn and not scorpions) so maybe that’s why?

Got all the sharks been fishing for money. I been to bamboo island so many times I wish I knew this I haven't even seen a scorpion
I make a big square with holes and stand in the square. I run around in that square and sometimes tease them with my net. They will come to the square but they can't come in.
I had 38 scorpions in a very short time. (This was on Scorpion island not the Bamboo island made into one)

It was getting towards the latter part of October and the deadline for catching scorpions. I finally got the courage to start with five Nook Mile tickets and give it a go after 2:00am. At the fourth ticket I actually got a flat bamboo island. I got to work clearing it. I was actually not quite finished when one scorpion appeared.
One new tip I learned from another video was creating a straight line or an L-shape line of dig holes and attracting the scorpion,/tarantula towards it. As long as you stay behind the dig holes it can not cross it to attack you. But you can reach over with your net to catch it. In an effort to reach you it may even get into a fit and run around in a small circle next to the holes, which makes it even easier to catch. It worked! I was lucky to have succeeded with the first scorpion spawn because it was already after 3:00am and I had until 4:00am to catch one. I don't know if I would have had to wait longer for the next spawn. I was thrilled in finally catching a scorpion and didn't need to catch multiple ones.

Hi sorry but I’m in the Southern Hemisphere and found a bamboo island and did EVERYTHING EXACTLY EVERYTHING. but I can’t find a tarantula!!!! I tried this yesterday too and saw one but I fainted and I never saw another for the next two hours I’m trying again today and still can’t find any.... why?
It changes every month based on what bugs are active that month. Also Ymir’s very important to go at the right time orbit wont work at all. This tutorial is for the northern hemisphere

my home island has a great spawn rate for great whites, aripimas, arowanas, and dorados, so it’s WAY easier for me to catch a few a day, store them in my home storage, and then sell for ~600k bells when CJ shows up. Much easier than scorpion/tarantula island, but Ill definitely give this a go!
Literally had the most fail moment ever. First island was a bamboo island, cleared everything but thought you needed fruit to remove alredy broken trees. Went back to main island, got fruit, headed to the second one. Normal island. Clear everything out, and then watch this video to learn I cant have fireflies. Caught a bunch of sharks and arapaimas though lol

You don't actually need bamboo island! I think you need an island with no river, since i got a pond island and no fireflies were spawning.

This is just a clear up, this can be at almost island starting at 7pm. You have to clear EVERYTHING, and if you get fresh water rivers, it has to be raining, to prevent lightning bugs! You don’t have to dig holes, and it just takes patience! I just finished getting 39 scorpions from swirly island!
I tried this three times on bamboo island. The first two times it didn’t work but finally the third time did. Not only did it turn into scorpion island but I was also getting a ton of great white sharks. It was crazy! I think I got six total

This is a cool video but I went to an island yesterday and there was fireflies still even though it was raining and no Scorpions at all. I did all that what you said even captured and released them but no Scorpions still ☹️
I'm so glad I found this video. This one guide i read said I had to dig up every single flower and others said I just needed to pick up the flowers... I was so confused lol. It's really annoying trying to catch scorpions in October when all I keep catching are stupid crickets just to get rid of them.

You arrived too early to the island of there are still butterflies.
You have to do this at night. Scorpions only spawn at night.
I had a rainy nook mile ticket mistery island and caught four scorpions, but then the joycon drift walked in, I got stung unconscious and then the rain disappeared and I was screwed :/

OMG! After traveling to multiple mystery islands, I finally landed on Bamboo Island! It wasn’t raining, and I was able to catch quite a few scorpions 🦂! I got took out 2 times, though. My problem was with mosquitoes 🦟. There were so many of them! When I scared away the wharf roaches, and other bugs, the scorpions came running! Thank you so much for your video!

If it’s not raining or bamboo island they won’t go away
I did the same and i had the luck it was raining so they spawned 10 sec after eachother. TIP: you can make a v whith a shovel and the wil mess up
Make holes like a cage. That way it’ll be easier to catch them without them stinging you
Since you can earn so much money with turnip I don't see the point in fishing or catching bugs :/

Great! The first time I tried this trick was the last day of May, and the very next day: fireflies! Great insight. Thank you!
You could also build a “trap” with holes... dig 7 holes in an L shape like a barrier (with the legs of the V facing out toward the sea), then instead of trying to approach the scorpion/tarantula, arm your net and let it chase you. At the last minute, run behind the barrier and the scorpion will stay on the outside and run around in circles! You can reach the scorpion with your net from across the holes. Just make sure you don’t accidentally jump over the hole!!
But what if I go to an island that doesn’t have bamboo and it’s not raining? Should I just try catching all the fireflies? I tried this and I got one scorpion to spawn but it took ages and I don’t think I’m gonna do it again 😞 so tedious
No only do it on bamboo island or the swirly island when it’s raining

the flat pine tree island isnt spawning anything.. i cleared it all, its raining.. PERFECT scorpion stances (spawning fish) but that shouldnt mess up the scorpions if nothing else is spawning.

you have to scare them away, sadly there really isn't but scorpions should still spawn often

I don’t suggest doing to in the two tiered islands. If there a river on the island it can only be done in the rain.
