I see there are a ton of bugs there! It was the same way when I was in that area last. The first section of the hike with the primate campsite was beautiful. Love the big fire pit by the water. Smart idea putting your drinks in the water like that. Mount Washington is nice. I actually have a video of that if you wanted to check it out! It was an awesome hike.

Josh the Travel Guy the bugs weren’t too bad while moving but the minute I stopped they started to attack! The campsite was prime also... gonna try and get back up there to do a few bushwhacking peaks on the 3500 list.
I’ll check out your Mount Washington vid. I also have one where I did a hut hop from the northern Prezi’s and out ammonoosuc ravine. I love the Whites!
      Thanks for the comment!

Nick, good video!I see you’re rocking the same Solomon speed cross 4’s that I wear! They’re awesome except don’t wear them on pavement-I wiped out on black ice over the winter with them-and they wear ultra quickly due to the soft compound.Love them for traction off road though!Be safe..

irishdefense77 yeah, I really liked the 3’s and the 4’s are sized better for going downhill. My toes don’t get jammed. Haven’t tried ice skating with them on pavement yet! Lol Be good brother!

Do you need a permit to camp here? Not to visit blue hole just camp. Thanks.

Don’t believe so. There are camping discs specifying the areas that are legal to camp. When I was there you didn’t need a permit.

Just got back from a trip today, unfortunately it was not a backpacking but more of an RV electric camping at Green Lakes state park. While they slept in their beds and made my camp in the woods. Love hammocks. Do u live in NY? If so where. I’m in Buffalo

TheOutdoorAngler I live in the lower Hudson Valley about an hour north of NYC. I’m really looking to get up to Watkins Glen and Letchworth. RV camping is the only way I can get my wife out into nature! Lol

Triple Nickel Outdoors yes! Thank you! A few things: 1) I’m totally with you on boots vs. shoes. I’ve been a Keen guy forever, but runners seem to be the way to go. 2) Great points on weight savings with clothing. Way too obvious. I will be looking closely at my clothing now. Haha. 3) Did I catch a Jerky Boys reference in there!!??

rpelton1 haha yes. It’s a family friendly channel so I chose to not go full blown Frank Rizzo! Lmao

Nice trip - heading up this weekend to do the same! Are there any decent tent spots by the lean to?

pgreenx not really up by the lean to, then again I wasn’t on the lookout for possible sites. You may be able to find something off trail but I’m not 100% sure. The camping sites by the Neversink River are prime though! Enjoy the trip. Great area!
