And for more info: Brendan Eich, created the JavaScript programming language in 1993. The first web browser was WorldWideWeb, created by Tim Berners-Lee in 1990. It was originally called Mesh. Java started earlier, in 1991, at Sun Microsystems by a team called the "Green Team" led by James Gosling. Initially called "Oak", the language was later renamed to Java.

Need to add a further comment. Most universities have done the R&D that is then lifted into corporations. So where are these people actually doing work or doing the actual research and development. If universities which are being handed cash via student loans from our government and then have people like him who then take the research and hard work that was done at the university and he just runs off with the cash, how is this fair or right?

Unfortunately the trolley car was unstoppable. Some were ignorant, others incredulous, but the worst were the apathetic. At least those in the trolley car knew exactly what they would do and were willing to do whatever it takes.
Good intentions, civility and adhering religiously to a doctrine or ideology all became irrelevant once they understood that everything had changed forever and to get back would be a long and painful journey that would require re thinking principles and ideals. Really that ideals are a luxury that only those who live in a free society can afford.
Anyway try reading The Human Crisis speech or The Power of the Powerless by Vaclav Havel.
