sorry this vlog was a couple days late! these are the things I reckon you should try before you leave Hong Kong! I 100% did not cover everything - let me know your top 5 👇🏻😬
Janice my top 5 would be; roast pigeon, HK style chee cheong fun, beef brisket noodle soup, HK style club sandwiches, and madhouse yum cha, as only HK can do it. Envious of your time there and enjoying your trip vicariously!
Janice, nice to see you with Virginia from Cloudy with a Chance of Fishballs! Also cool to see someone cover the Heritage Museum, very cool Bruce Lee exhibit there
This is my type of food! My favorite Beijing is an even more budget friendly place in any Asia cities I've been to... The second one is Hanoi with abundant inexpensive yummy street foods! By the way, come visit us here in San Francisco which has a world famous Chinatown.
Hello my friend. I really like the content. SUCH AN AWESOME AND DELICIOUS FOODS. Thank you for sharing an excellent, interesting and inspiring video. Hopefully your channel will continue to grow and be successful with great achievements. May we all be healthy, strong, successful, happy and always in the protection of God.
That interactive comic place ! What a concept. I also love black and red vinegar with most dumplings yum cha etc. Thanks for another great blog, we always look forward to it!
Ahhh, it’s finally here =) Had so much fun with you Janice - thank you so much for coming and for experiencing Lin Heung before it sadly closed down 😭 Till next time! 😘😘😘😘😘
I think Dragon State was the roast meats shop that we went to a lot during our trip to HK! Happened to be living nearby, mum was so impresses by their roast goose and we went back to dabao roast meats every day for a snack 😅
I haven’t been back to Hong Kong for 4 years. I went to New Town Plaza for lunch after visiting the museum just like you. There were so many food options at the top level of the mall, wish we had those sit in restaurants in Westfields. 😛
It was cool to see Virginia from Humid with a Chance of Fishballs in this episode; I wasn't expecting that. And, yeah...there was some delicious food showcased too. That cha siu really did look terrific. A good distribution of fat and meat. I can see why it's so popular. And, that satay French toast really caught my eye. I'd never heard of this variation. It might be something that would be very hard to find outside of Hong Kong.
Hi Janice, another great video, did you know that Lin Heung TeaHouse has closed down due to the pandemic a couple of weeks ago, 😢, I like EggWaffles too, but Sydney has more places to get them now, there’s one in Rhodes Waterside next to IKEA , little hay st Chinatown, Eastwood even…😀
@@JaniceFung it's not too bad, not as good as HK but if you craving for egg waffles , it can satisfy the craving 😂 but it's not cheap compared to HK About $6 I think , they have different flavours too 😂
Hi Janice, love your HK videos. We are just back from HK on August 8, so your posts bring back so many memories. Would highly recommend Happy Lamb in Yau Tsim Mong. Keep up the good work.
I have loved ❤️your Hong Kong food adventures ,the food is so good ..The 3 different types of pork looked DIVINE and the shrimp 🍤 wontons were so full of prawns and that French toast stuffed with mince just wow 🤤Lol @ the tea cup pouring you will be an expert in no time .hehe ..Really great vlog thank you ..🥰❤️💕
Dim sum looks fresh, when I went it was cold & looked like it sat there for awhile. You should check out Sing Heung Yuen for tomato soup instant noodles and toasted buns. We don’t have Jolibee in Australia, so keen to see how you rate it against KFC if that’s on your list.
I empathise on the pouring tea bit - I also paid a visit to Lin Heung last year and had the same struggle. A customer whom I was sharing table with was teaching me how to pour tea 😂
You’re killing me with these HK food vlogs😋. So many of my fav foods . I like a generous serve of rice with an Asian meat dish too. The lotus paste bun at yum cha looked delicious . Alas, I haven’t been able to find a decent red bean drink in Brissie. They aren’t made with love like the one you got in this video .
thanks so much Steven! this is the first time in 3 years I've visited Hong Kong. I do find there to be a big difference, winter can get quite chilly (still above 0 though)
Oat Milk DOES taste good but it is thicker than regular cow’s milk or goat’s milk. Not quite as thick as sweetened condensed milk but very close. I liked it the first time I ate it with breakfast cereal but I could not finish it, it was so rich or thick. I know rich and thick are not the same thing but it has a good taste, it is sweet and thicker. So it made me think it was rich and indulgent. It is great with grains like oatmeal and things like rice. Especially when they are warm! I did not realize that Hong Kong does Waffle Balls! Tokyo and other parts of Japan love them during festivals and I will admit that I thought they were very specific to Japan. See? What do I know? I am VERY GLAD you are back to doing these videos. When I got the notification that you had uploaded this video, I clicked the notification to take me right to it. I have missed your travels and these videos. I am very glad you are back to it. You had another question that I was going to answer but I forgot it, typing everything else. Sorry!!! I am not able to pause the video to back up and find it.
I wish I'd seen your Hong Kong videos before I went in 2018. We ate some excellent food but not as varied as what you've been showing us on this trip. Thanks!
I legit wanna go on this same route when I get to visit HK again! Agree, siumai & hargow are so classic. That suckling pig looks amazing and it hits different when you actually have it in HK haha. French toast that tastes like charsiu bao sounds wild!
Thanks Janice! 👍 So many interesting places to see (& eat) in HK. Loved that interactive comic thingy in the museum. 😃 Do you get to keep a print or something once you are in the panel? Question: do you prefer Ovaltine or Milo? For me, it’s milo. I find Ovaltine a little too sweet. Just my preference 😃
You went to sha tin and didn't hit up the ten thousand monks Monastery... It's literally right at IKEA. You would've been really impressed. Thanks for another great video
Hi Janice, I've heard of Australia Dairy Co in Hong Kong. Do you know why they're calling Australia Dairy as I know they are in fact Chinese Resturant? Love this video make me so hungry.
The most challenging issue travelling in HK to me is that there are too many food option from breakfast to dinner. I have been here for almost 3 weeks already and got a few extra pounds from all the friends meetup.

It’s so great that you have been to Lin Heung Tea House right before it was permanently closed
I'm a new immigrate kind of, came in Hong Kong 2021. I am yet to explore Hong Kong, you have actually inspired me to go explore more of Hong Kong,
蓮香樓 the teahouse just closed forever... lucky u visited her in your last visit. I had never been to that teahouse.

We do watching at the end ! I saw you passed by my secondary school on the way to shatin Che kung temple lol

Love HK dim sum...I remembered being amazed by the amount of small prawns they able to stuffed into a little wanton
haha yeah they dont skimp!
Mak Man Kee is my favourite wonton place in HK. The noodles can be a bit too "al dente" but their wontons are so good!
Yeah they don’t skimp on prawns!
