Šalčininkai district - Visiting Lithuania's appendix

Šalčininkai is a region very close to Vilnius, which includes an interesting salient land near Belarus, called Dieveniškės. But Lithuanians most often call it the Lithuania's appendix 😄 Šalčininkai is not a very popular district for tourism, but it has fascinating stories behind it such as like the history of Paulava Republic, Norviliškės castle, Dieveniškės Regional Park and more.

Is it possible to put your foot in Belarus at the castle or is it guarded?

There is a fence all along the border and the whole region is very guarded these days

Actually it is called in kind of a similar way - "appendix".
