Thanks Mike for portraying the Isle of Man so well. I was captivated by the place in 2017 when I first visited for work, by 2019 I was living the dream and continue to do so, the heritage, the people, the roads and even the unpredictable weather make this place special and unique.
This made me grasp we're already on the trail of what remains of a magical era in the automotive world, that of the mid '90s to mid 2000s. You know patina makes everything more meaningful and poetic, but I didn't expect that this much would lay down in fifteen years.

That Top Gear episode was iconic!! I remember coming home for dinner at school, watching repeats and it always seemed to be on! Managed to go last year and the weather was exactly the same, wet, windy and misty, I LOVED IT!
@@sukhdevr3489 Actually, the episode quoted at the the end of the video is Series 7 Episode 1 where the trio tested a 997 Carrera vs V8 Vantage vs V10 M6. That film is just as golden as the episode you mentioned although I will say the M3 CSL review is more famous.
Being very diplomatic about Clarkson’s connections with the IOM there. His ex-wife is from the island as was her father about whom he made the VC Documentary. He wrote a lot about the lighthouse in his columns, he loved it there. I thought Francie still owned it.
I can say from first hand experience it is a truely amazing island the IOM. Been over there for both the TT (10x) and the classic TT. I would say, in a way its like the UKs version of Hawaii.
I really enjoyed the video. Very well done. It's a beautiful place. I must admit that I got a little sentimental when I heard their voices in the background.

The Isle of Man is one of my absolute favourite places on the planet! A gorgeous island with so much history and beautiful roads. And I also find it awesome that you ended up using a BMW for this tour, as both the times that Top Gear did films there, they featured BMWs - first the M3 CSL, E30 M3, E34 M5, M1 and Z4 and the second time the E63 M6 (vs the 997 and V8 Vantage). Both of those episodes are among my favourite TG episodes.
If I knew that DRIVETRIBE were here 2 years ago, I would have loved to see them around. This channel reminds me a lot if TopGear. Best channel on TH-cam. Well done everyone. As well, I am saying as a Manxman that the TT is absolutely legendary and the atmosphere is amazing, and DRIVETRIBE, come back during TT sometime!
Beautiful Scenery, godlike Twisties, no Speed Limits, little to no traffic, basically heaven for petrolheads. I know where i buy a house when i win the lottery for which i would need to start playing lottery in the first place but you get the idea, hopefully...
It would be interesting to see them get back together and do basically part two videos of some of the classic old videos they did on TG, and show how their opinions have changed as they've gotten older.
I'm from the US, but I've always wanted to visit the IOM every since I say my first TT Race on TV. It's #1 on my places to visit someday. Although, I'm worried I may never leave once I get there lol
Mike you continue to grow with each video and this really does highlight that well, you would fit in so well into the Grand Tour/ Top Gear format with the holy trinity its safe to say this channel is as close to a spiritual successor we can get. @@alanburke76 Gordon Ramsay was going round cooking local things with famous people, often in their kitchens iirc. In Jeremy Clarksons case it was lobster. I'd forgotten about that but instantly remembered I'd seen it on TH-cam years ago when I read the comment. I knew I already knew about the lighthouse!

The only reason I go to Isle of Man is for the TT. I absolutely love it. AND also BigClive and his TH-cam channel. I’ve passed the fuzz at a Buck 20 on my H2 and got a wave. That is why I keep coming back.
Every time I visit the IOM I feel like I've arrived back home. an odd feeling of tranquility and peace. Also walked by Clarksons old home many times, known as Dreswick Harbour. Walked through his garden to get back to the path I was following 😂 then his robotic lawn mower started to make a move. if you have never been, get yourself booked and go!
I saw the title and thought it was the Harry and Paul classic. Always makes me laugh. Saw that bit of orange on your wrist so must be a Casio G-Shock. Doubt you would wear a Casio F-91W.
I’m remembering when Gordon Ramsey went to Jeremy’s house and caught and cooked a lobster dinner for his family there on the Isle of Man. As I’m hearing their distant voices as he drove on those roads towards the end of the video… not sure why I’m getting emotional lol… I couldn’t care less about any celebrity or public figure… but when one of these three men cease to exist, I will truly mourn. I’m not sure if that’s insane or not, but these guys are the only people I’ve never met that I’d grieve their loss if something happened to them.
I live here and love it, but you need a certain frame of mind. The one complaint everyone always says: it's tiny and travelling off island isn't that easy. Winter isn't great either. That said, if you're a small island kind of person, it's probably the best in the world.

Those couple of episodes of Top Gear were my reason for visiting IOM.
