    Next time when flying this route, fly Qatar. It’s way better than this! Nice video.

      Funny you mention that, since I was actually trying to change my flight from this one to Qatar's QSuite (unsuccessfully, unfortunately) 😁

    I am beyond pissed that this route during this particular time slot is now operated by fucking AA and not Qatar.
    Great trip report nonetheless man.. looking forward to more

      I share your same frustration haha. The worst part was me making the rookie mistake thinking that my flight was Qatar, since it had their QR flight code (facepalm).

      It's getting switched back to Qatar Airways this month, with AA now taking over Qatar's once-daily Philadelphia route. Unfortunately, this does mean that anyone traveling from PHL will now have no choice but to fly AA...

    Thank you for this review- as I am about to fly this same leg, on AA, knowingly, as the fares were significantly less (about USD1k less) than flying on Qatar (which will be on my 1st leg on a very long way to get to NYC). At least I can manage my expectations (already low, now maybe lower).

      Glad to hear the video was helpful in setting your expectations. There's nothing worse than being surprised and disappointed when you pay good money for premium class flights!

    Nice review like always. I'm curious how many points / cash did you pay for this flight?

    • @AirJermaine
      @AirJermaine ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the kind words again! I used cash for this flight - about USD$1,400 one way from Cairo to JFK. This was the latter leg of the flight, and before that I flew Qatar Airways from Cairo to Doha (also included in my channel). Cheers!

    Posting this around the start of the World Cup, I’m guessing all seats taken or close to it on the wknd leading up to the 1st game

      Probably so! This flight was in September so I can't imagine how crazy it is now with the World Cup!

    Did you book this flight knowing that you will be on American Airlines? There are probably some unlucky folks who booked on the Qatar Airways website who might not have noticed that there are actually some Qatar Airways codeshare flights that are operated by American Airlines. They would be in for a big disappointment once they show up at the airport and find out that they will be flying on American Airlines! At least American Airlines, like Qatar Airways also offers So Jennie (non-alcoholic champagne) for their muslim guests on this route.

    • @AirJermaine
      @AirJermaine ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought there was a chance it'd be AA, but I convinced myself (in error) that it was Qatar since the flight number had their "QR" prefix (instead of "AA"). Unfortunately I learned the hard way that it doesn't work that way :(

    Well I have to say I have a digestive tract that will not tolerate tomatoes. That is an involuntary return to sender situation unless they are absolutely hammered into a sauce with a lot of other ingredients, and I avoid nuts like the plague. That menu would have left me on a liquid diet for the duration. I really find myself appreciating lounges for this reason. As for the aircraft I have to agree, I'm not certain AA could have made it any more bland with a herculean effort.

    • @AirJermaine
      @AirJermaine ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooof, as someone who also has a long history of digestive problems I can sympathize! And regarding AA's blandness, the only logical explanation I can think of is maybe the greys were a much brighter white when they were newer (?). Such a miss!

      @@AirJermaine I doubt it was originally any more pale as a colour scheme because it would have looked filthy in short order. I would think its more likely they were just trying to play safe and be as inoffensive to as many passengers as possible. I personally find blue cabins restful and red cabins less so. Fly safe and tail winds only. All the best.

    Are there many Americans or Arabians on board?

    • @AirJermaine

      I usually don’t pay attention to these types of details, but I believe in my cabin it was mostly folks from the US like me.

    You made a big mistake by mentioning pork when it comes to the lounge. Qatar is a muslim country and you will not find any pork anywhere. And next time just fly Qatar Airways......

    • @AirJermaine

      Oh gosh sorry for totally missing that, and that’s a great catch! There was so much going on I thought there was pork there. And yes I totally agree - would’ve been so much better flying Qatar (I was tying to get QSuites but was unsuccessful)
