SOLO WILD CAMP with my dog near the beautiful PADLEY GORGE

  • I had an emergency whilst camping with my dog over the weekend - sorry for the delay with this video.
    Padley Gorge is probably the most photographed place in the whole of the Peak District during autumn and for good reason! A cascading babbling stream flowing through the Gorge and ancient deciduous woodland makes it a photographer's heaven.
    It's also a cracking place to wild camp if you head up into the old quarry. As always folks leave no trace and please respect this beautiful place!
    If you've read this far, a huge big THANK YOU for all your support! Please don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE it really helps me out 💚👧&🐕

    Nice vid. Glad you didn't bother with the fire though as that whole area is a SSSI. Some quite rare fungi make their home there. Sorry for being your most miserable viewer once again, but the area is my baby. Maybe we could share a camp one day, and you'll see i'm not totally miserable. i know somw very nice wild camp spots. ;)

    • @Wild.cat.adventures
      @Wild.cat.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's OK I understand, I love the area too. It's an sssi for 3 types of lichen that are rare in the Midlands and is the best example of the woodlands that once covered the edges and uplands of the Peak District. I left it better than I found it and picked up some litter too. Might change my thumbnail later today to make the location less obvious too 👍

    Hey Cat, that looks a lovely area for a walk, great photos too, I never bother changing the iso settings etc either, maybe I should 🤣 I do love a good ruin in the woods too, makes you think about the history and what's gone in there 😁 nice little camp spot, with a ready made fire pit too 👌 great advice on clearing the pit too 😁 nice supply of wood on hand too 👍 I agree on the Scarps sides need to go right to the ground 👌 a near perfect tent for me too, still got your pegs safe and sound 🤣👌 again great advice on not having the 🔥 wind, fire and an expensive tent don't mix 😳 food looked a1 as always 🤤 I do love a pepper corn sauce 🤤 aaaaaaaand Xena's PJ's are back 🥰🥰🥰 and a lovely misty morning to wake up to 😊 no slugs in the coffee this time eh 😳🤣🤣🤣 great camp and video, catch you soon, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁

(totally cheeky I know 🤣) it's a cracking little spot for sure and I'll definitely be back. Think I might have to stop giving the locations away though 😬

    you have got me curious

    purpose for said material in the trangia...??
    thank you in advance

    • @Wild.cat.adventures
      @Wild.cat.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had a speedster spill proof alcohol burner, but the container broke so I thought I would try the wadding from that in the trangia. It stops 50% of the alcohol spilling out so makes it a bit safer. It seems slightly more fuel efficient too but that could be my imagination 😂

    • @bushcraftone7240
      @bushcraftone7240 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Wild.cat.adventures thank you
      it sounds plausible to be a bit more fuel efficient

    Another beautiful place in the Peaks!
    When I was younger we'd have family walks around here. Park at Grindleford, breakfast at the cafe when Phil owned it. Up thru' Padley gorge, up Burbage valley, along the top of Stanage then down thru the plantation to Hathersage. Lunch and a pint in the Little John then back along the Derwent to Grindleford.
    A great 10 mile walk.
    Thanks for the video, brought back many happy memories :)

I personally find the I phone gives lovely photos but they seem harsh and not true colours. hi,I would put my robens starlight 2 up against your scarp. I came across the robens starlight a few months ago being reduced from £250 to £162 so I bought it.( I done the usual when I started wild camping listening to youtubers saying that the vango banshee or the oex phoxx were the way to go I bought them and hated both of them. they may be cheap but you get what you pay for.so the search started for a good tent at roughly the same price)the starlight is a proper G of a tent, it weighs 2.5kg which is the bad point the good points are
    160km wind speeds
    it's huge you can sit up with loads of room above.
    it has a washing line
    corners are squared like the scarp
    it has Windows/ vents at head and foot area plus window in door with mesh covering.
    6 pegs to set up
    fixed corner posts
    full material inner tent ,so really warm.
    if anyone reads this and is looking for a tent you can use all year round this is without doubt the tent for you . like video hope your both OK, take care , see you in next video.
