- How to Catch a Ton of Snook - Sanibel Island Shore Fishing
This is part one of a two part series. I broke the morning and evening fishing sessions into two videos. In this session I was really just wanting to see how many snook I could catch before the tide went slack. It didnt disappoint because i ended up losing count and catching way to many to include them all in the video. I hope you pick up something for snook fishing from the video. I fished there with my son, we both landed nice fish there. Tons of them there. Water is stinky but fishing is awesome

ill be there next week...(from NJ). ..i'm going to hit Walmart get a cheap combo rod and some swimbaits, white bucktails . not sure what's around this time of year, but going to give it a shot

I used to fish there 5 years ago in catch 3 12in Snook sheep heads mango Snapple that's a great place to fish yet

heading down in July I hope not to melt, we will e staying on Sanibel and I hope to get in a good bit of fishing, avid northern ohio fisherman, watching many vids it looks like the reel sizes are from 3000 to 4500 maybe 5000 correct? What is it you use for this style of fishing?
Fishing for snook close to structure I go with heavier gear so I can lock the drag down and horse them away from the structure.
A good friend found your video and shared it. Nice job and god fishing. I’ve ridden my bike by here several times but never brought tackle to fish. Do you live in the area full time or seasonally?
We just visit a couple times a year.

I love that mullet lure for almost all situations. Redfish love it.
The only way to fish that is by bike or walk and i tell you its a hike from the nearest parking lot that you can actually park at... Before the stop people from parking there i used to catch Tarpon, Reds, Goliath grouper, Snapper and tons n tons of snook... At night its even BETTER trust me

Clever I never thought about taking a bike ride down there to that spot I know they have no parking signs there but I think it's time to try and find me an electric scooter that will hold my weight. load it in my SUV and park at blind pass then drive the scooter down to that spot.
Where on the island is this. Going down this upcoming weekend and want to fish as much as possible with my son. Haven’t been in 20 years, any other spots you are willing to share ? Also, how about some tackle suggestions ?

As always!! I only fish with yozuri never fails. I live in cape about 30 mins away from sanibel after Ian we have seen a mass of fish around here and even in the canals.
With current like that I’d slow roll a big swim bait on the bottom and find one of the big girls.
I did almost exactly that in a subsequent video and caught several bigger ones.

@@TheLawlessTide I pound the docks of the Intracoastal in Jupiter with shrimp lures, crank baits, and surface lures. The gods only want me catching Largemouth and only sting rays in salt water. Do you guide?

Time of day doesn't matter, moving water matters.

St croix medium light 7’ rod with a penn conflict 3000
What is that rod and reel combo?
The main one i used that video was a st. Croix inshore medium 6 1/2 foot rod with a penn conflict 3500.
I have since gotten a couple heavier setups I will use this year when snook fishing, the setup in that video was a little light when I hooked the bigger snook.
@@TheLawlessTide I caught 4 yesterday at Blind pass, 8 ft. Edge Rod, by Gary loomis and a Conflict 2 1000 ! Sanibel is a great place for Snook, especially the Dinks,but lots of Fun ! Good video !!!

I honestly dont know the street names in Sanibel, im sure if you go by one of the bait shops they can tell you how to get there..I just found it when i was driving around the island and though it looked good to fish.
