I had iPhone 6 then just got iPhone XS in Gold just yesterday and I love it! Even do it is a bit weird without a home button but I got use to it already 😁
We all agree that not including a fast charger is cheap on Apple’s part, why do we still support them lol? I rather them not include the earphones at this point in exchange for a fast charger.
Well, the fast charger is much more expensive than the standard charger, look at the fine prints under the iPhone xs page, you'd see that their fast charging test is conducted via MacBook type c chargers, for xs is 30w, for xs max is 87w, the price tag? B-E-A-Utiful as a new iPhone, $49 and $79 respectively, and you have to purchase a USB-C to lightning cable, which costs $35. I bought an iPhone Xs Max, so I had to spend $114 on the fast charger itself and $50 on a phone case. Accessories made for the company big as Apple will usually result in more than 70% of the profit goes to Apple's pocket. (So $114 retail vs. $34.2 cost) I worked in the cell phone accessories industry for quite a few years, and I can tell you, based on the amount apple acquire, their regular phone charger's cost is under $2.50/unit, and the cable itself will not exceed $1.75 to make, the headphone will not exceed $2/unit either, it's their best interest to keep the what they are packing, under the good name of simplistic ideas and betterment for environment. ($2.5+$1.75+$2=$6.25 cost at most) $34.2 vs. $6.25, which helps apple makes more money? And I have to say the cult of iPhone and the shaming of not using iPhone in my friend circle is ridiculous. I used to own a note 8, and it was an excellent phone, but people give you that look for not holding one, especially you spend an almost same amount of money to buy a smartphone. So here I am, purchased an iPhone, ironically, the fastest wireless charging pad available in the market is the ones Samsung send it to me for free when I bought the note 8, which is $99 market price.
r0mediddy I have some 3rd party chargers thatvis smaller then the block Apple sakes for its iPads and I tried to mock up the change in packaging it would require... it’s rough 2.3xs the size of the 5w charger that apple ships and when it comes to charging accessories I think all the resources are being used on AirPower instead of making a smaller quick charger to include in the box

Just about to pick up one of the XS Max, used but at approximately half current new price. Your comparisons were so helpful and don't require a PhD in Nerdology. I'm upgrading from a 7 Plus which I still think of a quite new. I went for the 512 primarily because it was about £50 difference ($50 approx). I shoot lots of video and I'm starting to use iPhone as secondary camera, tending towards higher framerates, which will fill up a phone quicker. Thanks again for the wonderful explanations that anybody can understand!
There’s no difference in including the fast charger in the box, it just makes the total price of the iphone around $60 more expensive and the cable is just compatible with usb c devices. You might as well just buy it separately and have both cables.
I got my iPhone XS Max from Hong Kong, and it has the two nano sim socket. just looks a little fatter. and work beautifully. I can use either as DATA, and there is a choice of three options when first install. I think this is much better than a not even working e-Sim option. This will be the main reason there was not a Ton of Asian people in the lines waiting for the new iPhones around the globe, The upgrade for this option alone is worth it, when I see in China many people always with two phones.
My model, as I said, is from HONG KONG! mainland China model is also the same but will cost more. Otherwise, you unlikely to find it outside these parts of the world without a bigger price tag.

Ahhhh… the XS Max. The last pretty iPhone, and I’m holding onto mine until it gets no more updates. That vertical camera is so much prettier and classy looking than the big eyes of the newer models.
Wow this phone is a fingerprint magnet! Going case-less is easier because the phone has more grip than the aluminum but I have to keep wiping it off because it shows off fingerprints so well...funny because there’s no touch-ID
Just got this upgrade and best phone ever. I was a power Android user and did all the custom stuff to it like ROM, root, etc. and even go back to the Motorola “brick” phone in my teens. People can hate on Apple and yes they are dumb expensive and a class in themselves not exactly as planned for average people. However, they are innovative, strict with detail in hardware and software (perfect marriage created) and their OS is butta smooth. And just the little features I’ve noticed that are too, professional. One time with Apple I never went back. Struggled to upgrade man a struggle. A 5C when they were old, then a SE, then 6+ and finally financed a beautiful red 8. Screwed up that up and in the future financed another in black, different carrier. Paid that off and here I am with the XS Max years later! Not sweating the 11 - that’s for camera folk. But that midnight green DAMN.

When I bought the XS at a local store when I opened the box I was disappointed not to have the iconic “hello” instructional sheet instead it was provided in Spanish / Portuguese and Italian .... I was like BUMMERRRR (worth to mention that it was purchased in Italy a few days ago)
You don’t have to put your camera setting on 1080p60fps to get the front facing camera to enable it. You can have 4K60fps selected and it will run the front facing camera at 1080p60fps.
Can we get over the lack of fast charger and headphone adapter? First world problems? holy crap. 1. Be smarter about charging your phone - boom don't need fast charging. eM I have the Galaxy S8+ and the XS Max. Honestly the lack of multitasking and split screen apps is SOOOO annoying. I bought the phone because I felt like it. But Apple is wrong for not including a fast charger like Samsung has been doing.
These Eyes See Darkness Clearly - I’d kill for split screen don’t get me wrong. My issue is I have been unwillingly sucked into the Apple ecosystem. How to peel away? Mac OS Mojave will integrate new iPhones and Mac use even more. I have the watch. And the airpods. And iPad. And MacBook Pro. And Thunderbolt Display. Seamless integration. I’m not sure what android has to offer that’s comparable, even if their individual devices pack better and more useful features.
eM well I have MacBook Pro 2018, Surface Book 2 15 inch, iPad Pro 10.5 inch as well. Personally, I just like to have the best of both worlds (have a PS4 and Xbox). But I prefer the Surface Book, iPad Pro, and Galaxy S8+ out of my current devices. The integration isn’t that important to me and I can no longer go without multitasking and split screen on my phone. My next phone WILL be the Samsung Note 10 unless Apple changes. I just wanted to try iOS again since my last iPhone was the 6. Samsung is definitely a better buy for your money if you want more features plus more included in the box. If you just want iPhone because of emojis, iMessage/FaceTime, simplicity and integration then.... idk 😐 but I can kinda understand
The glass broke on now after dropping it for the 7th time, without screen protector or case. So, yeah... it really is strong. I got a new one but it had a scratch after a while so take care of the first one before it’s gone. If you put the phone on a flat surface and with the volume on super high, the phone vibrates with the aid of the camera, so, if you were wondering how I managed to drop it so much, there you go. The fact that it's bigger didn't help at all, since its harder to grab🤪

I’m using iPhone XS ..and it’s awesome..very quick and fast..but the only thing that is bad is the signal strength.,when in area where receptions are bad..my provider can’t get through...I thought it will be stronger and and can go through
There's not enough to tempt me to upgrade to the Xs from my X mate I only use the camera to capture family photos and to be honest the X does this no drama I'm not after the fancy camera stuff, now if they had teased me with more of a raw performance boost or a doubling of RAM or a systemwide darkmode exclusive to the device or all 3 I would have been straight onto it. Until then I'll stick with my jailbroken X with darkmode everywhere. 😀
I don’t see why people would upgrade every year. Seems like you would upgrade after your phone no longer works good. Hopefully that’s at least 3-4 years.
The processor is the A12 Bionic and opposed to the A11 chip in the 10. It's the fastest chip of all phones. No android chip wil be as fast for a couple years. It can do trillions, yes trillions of calculations instantly.

The capacity of the A12 bionic chip is so great that it could be used in their computers. It started in the phone though. ;)
I'll have mine today! I chose the XS, mainly cause it's what I afford at the moment, but also I want more compact, handy display that doesn't compromise functionality for it is still a considerably big display at 5.8 inch

An apple phone can last without any performance related issues for 4 years easily .Apart from slighrly reduced batterylife everything generally works smooth unlike any android phone in the market . They wont last more than 2 years

When I bought the XS at a local store when I opened the box I was disappointed not to have the iconic “hello” instructional sheet instead it was provided in Spanish / Portuguese and Italian .... I was like BUMMERRRR (worth to mention that it was purchased in Italy a few days ago)

You don’t have to put your camera setting on 1080p60fps to get the front facing camera to enable it. You can have 4K60fps selected and it will run the front facing camera at 1080p60fps.

Can we get over the lack of fast charger and headphone adapter? First world problems? holy crap.
1. Be smarter about charging your phone - boom don't need fast charging. And the phone lasts pretty much all day... Just charge overnight??? Really need fast charging? Buy one. Its $30 for third-party. Cant afford that? Why did you buy a $1000+ phone? *cough cough flexing?*
2. Seriously. Its a $1000+ phone. Buy some $150 airpods or $250 Bose noise canceling headphones. "But I cant afford it!" Then why did you buy a $1000+ phone?
3. If you're really a cheap ass, go buy 5x shares of AAPL stock for ~$1000 total. Skip this upgrade round. Buy a new iPhone at a heavy "discount" next year with your profits.

eM I have the Galaxy S8+ and the XS Max. Honestly the lack of multitasking and split screen apps is SOOOO annoying.
I bought the phone because I felt like it. But Apple is wrong for not including a fast charger like Samsung has been doing.
These Eyes See Darkness Clearly - I’d kill for split screen don’t get me wrong. My issue is I have been unwillingly sucked into the Apple ecosystem. How to peel away? Mac OS Mojave will integrate new iPhones and Mac use even more. I have the watch. And the airpods. And iPad. And MacBook Pro. And Thunderbolt Display. Seamless integration. I’m not sure what android has to offer that’s comparable, even if their individual devices pack better and more useful features.
eM well I have MacBook Pro 2018, Surface Book 2 15 inch, iPad Pro 10.5 inch as well. Personally, I just like to have the best of both worlds (have a PS4 and Xbox).
But I prefer the Surface Book, iPad Pro, and Galaxy S8+ out of my current devices. The integration isn’t that important to me and I can no longer go without multitasking and split screen on my phone.
My next phone WILL be the Samsung Note 10 unless Apple changes. I just wanted to try iOS again since my last iPhone was the 6.
Samsung is definitely a better buy for your money if you want more features plus more included in the box.
If you just want iPhone because of emojis, iMessage/FaceTime, simplicity and integration then.... idk 😐 but I can kinda understand

The glass broke on now after dropping it for the 7th time, without screen protector or case. So, yeah... it really is strong. I got a new one but it had a scratch after a while so take care of the first one before it’s gone. If you put the phone on a flat surface and with the volume on super high, the phone vibrates with the aid of the camera, so, if you were wondering how I managed to drop it so much, there you go. The fact that it's bigger didn't help at all, since its harder to grab🤪

There's not enough to tempt me to upgrade to the Xs from my X mate I only use the camera to capture family photos and to be honest the X does this no drama I'm not after the fancy camera stuff, now if they had teased me with more of a raw performance boost or a doubling of RAM or a systemwide darkmode exclusive to the device or all 3 I would have been straight onto it. Until then I'll stick with my jailbroken X with darkmode everywhere. 😀
I don’t see why people would upgrade every year. Seems like you would upgrade after your phone no longer works good. Hopefully that’s at least 3-4 years.

The processor is the A12 Bionic and opposed to the A11 chip in the 10. It's the fastest chip of all phones. No android chip wil be as fast for a couple years. It can do trillions, yes trillions of calculations instantly.

It has a six-core CPU with two performance cores that consume 40 % less power. It has four “efficiency” cores, handling lower-intensity tasks, and should consume 50 percent less energy. The additional speed and technologies support technologies like tessellation, multi-layer rendering, and lossless memory compression, also faster Secure Enclave associated with the new chipset, which is used for tasks like Face ID authentication.
One of the cores is a dedicated neural engine. Coupled with the raw processing power it will change app processing. Particularly apps which use the company’s machine learning framework, Core ML, which the new A12 Bionic runs nine times faster than last year’s chips. Apple has already launched an SDK for developers (ARKit). So developers have more power to create the next-gen era of augmented reality apps. The capacity of the A12 bionic chip is so great that it could be used in their computers. It started in the phone though. ;)

An apple phone can last without any performance related issues for 4 years easily .Apart from slighrly reduced batterylife everything generally works smooth unlike any android phone in the market . They wont last more than 2 years
