Indeed, the Xfx boost version tops out at 1180 and 1400mhz vram. That's after the VBIOS mod and flash to 75watt tdp. The problem it's the vcore voltage, it's 1200mv and there is no way to raise it, at least i didn't find any..
I did the OC with MSI Afterburner, and yes that's a lot higher, but I can't seem to find any R7 250 that could go so high. Do you have the 1 GB or 2 GB card?
if u got ddr3 you wont get any performance increase from oc the core clock :/ just try to set the core at stock and increase the ddr3 att high as u can
Thanks, had to resort to a friends old R7 250 after my piece of garbage sapphire R9 270x crapped out right out of warranty and they refused to work with me. Don't buy sapphire garbage!
sapphire 270x was a really bad GPU, and a lot of them died in the first 3 to 4 years of use... but for most cards sapphire does a good job, i had the R7 370 4gb Nitro and it worked really well even overclocked for a couple of years. Then i upgraded to the Pulse 570 4gb and it still works really well for me despite being a mediocre overclocker
I got a stable overclock at 1101 on Core, and 1002 on Memory, with a +5 Power Limit through MSI Afterburner. I reach at max 60c and idling at 30c.
1275 MHz Core 1100 MHz Memory.
Sapphire R7 250 is BEAST.

What did you OC with? BIOS or something? my memory on an asus card runs at 2300MHz, is that higher than yours?

I have the sapphire r7 250, can i do this? My r7 250 is not the oc edition...
Well you can OC any GPU, just play with the settings in afterburner until you can get a stable OC.
+Megabitus How do i know when its overclocked?
You should download and install Heaven Benchmark, and run it in a window. And there you can see the changes real-time.
GPU Throttling .....
I managed 1275 mhz on the core... unfortunately have the 2gb model with ddr3 at 800mhz (825mhz oc)
