I played sweden the other day and I got the finland's cause is our cause event declaring war on the soviet union and then i found out that finland and the soviets werent even at war
It's super weird how this path basically replaces your political tree with the Nordic shared one. None of the other countries have paths that work that way
I live playing the Nordic defense council, you just fortify the hell out of everyone else, take their troops from them and make Sweden the most defendable country on earth. You can weather most the majors attacking you on elite difficulty. It’s truly a sight to see

16:26 Releasing puppets is _always_ better for non-core land, wdym. It's only if you don't want to have 1 gazillion regiments or don't like AI regiments that you don't puppet. Every single puppet state will have their own focus trees and the returns are 10-fold back, you can even reintegrate them after they completed infrastructure. Also, as you just said yourself, endless manpower :)
I'd like to see you play Finland, the winter buffs you get are insane, plus the special support companies and more (Also sad you didn't get the unique bus for Sweden)

the council focuses gives 2 nuclear reactors for the one doing the focus and 1 nuclear reactor for the others im pretty sure and some bonuses, its the focus "Nuclear Production"
Now I understand why we stayed natural under that area because our technology wasn’t that advanced, and we would have been wrecked by the Soviets but nowadays with our semi modern military technology we have actually a chance to win
I think there is a way to get them to join whit a 100% chance. (there is a few triggers the AI looks for from the player when you do the decision)... think one reason it failed so hard was because he started it to early (super low world tension as I think if been over like 40% greatly raises it).
I think the Nordic Council would be better if it was a separate focus tree from the normal trees. In other words, have your normal focus and the faction focus going at the same time. Maybe make it cost more political power to balance it out?
I mean NATO does stand for North Atlantic Treaty Organization and yet includes both countries that have no access to the Atlantic Ocean as well as countries that don’t have access to any oceans. So Mexico being on the Nordic defense council seems fine to me.
Sweden is way too much fun. Great starting economy, tons of resources for use or even better, trade. Focus tree is real good, and of course the Nordic Council path is crazy. Volunteer Sweden awesome too.
for Turkey you should do the path to restore the Ottoman's but when you finish the civil war do reconfigure Turkish foreign policy instead and just stay as anatolia

Joint focus tree not that great for a collection of countries where your goal as any one of them is to annex the other 3. Might be better suited for the Commonwealth nations?
