Thanks. The 2025 Sprinter 19a was inspiration. It’s factory black. Maybe all Sprinters come that way. I can’t picture yours because I’m too busy admiring the lift and tires 🤩
Hello I very much like the idea of the door stop which would be nice. You could you do a revisit in a few months to re=evaluate? I read reviews that the adhesion failed rendering the device useless. I live in Florida so anything requiring adhesion needs to be very heavy duty. Thanks for the videos!
It’s actually about as old as the van at this point. I just mentioned it again because it’s probably better to paint over it rather than stick it to painted surface. So it is going strong for over a year and a half. It survived our Florida trip but we weren’t there in significant heat. But Florida did destroy some of my other adhesive stuff when down there, so I get where you’re coming from. This one did have a 3M VHB strip which is what I prefer to use if I can.
@@jtbrv23 Well, I finally coughed up the 9 bucks together with a forgotten about 23 dolla credit card reward and ordered the ogvm sliding door stopper last night. Amazon delivered it this morning and I ran out the door and put it on. Well so far so good. It really does the trick I must say and the van looks so much better without that huge gaping hole when the door is fully open exposing everything. I do have another issue that you might have a solution for and that is the roof light cover was slightly shredded when tropical storm Debbie went through last week. It now flaps a little in the wind when driving and is becoming more annoying. Not sure why it needs the cover? should I remove it or is there another solution?
@junglehomes6525 it’s funny how something so simple like a metal wedge makes such a big difference. I had my light bar cover on until I made the first drive up to Lake Superior. It had so many bugs coating it that I threw it away. That being said, Thor has to put it on when sold because some states require off road lights to be covered. So there is some risk I could get a ticket, but I think about all those semi trucks I see on interstates with off road light bars on front bumpers and I quit worrying. Also helpful that Wisconsin laws allow vehicles to have them.
Thanks. The bottom strips of the van I used a vinyl covering. It’s a good place to start trying your hand at vinyl if you want to learn. I used matrix black by 3M. I might switch it up for forged carbon though.
@@jtbrv23 funny you mentioned vinyl wrapping. I tried vinyl wrapping my hood and it was a disaster. I used the VVIVID brand and it was impossible to work with. Maybe I’ll give 3m a shot. It’s more expensive but what’s the point of cheap if it ends up in the garbage.
@Cam-u1v some photos of the install in the middle of this video th-cam.com/video/D-CV1WE0IPM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PdV8r4BVK93xD3ig I also tried vvivid 4D carbon fiber wrap. Absolute garbage. Couldn’t wrap anything with any curve. Used it on a glass entertainment stand so it wasn’t wasted. 3M is way easier to work with.
It's holding up pretty well. There is no chipping or peeling of the paint. There is a darkened line right down the middle of track where the wheel rolls. I don't know if its oil or grime from the wheel but I think that same mark was created on the normal track if I remember correctly.
Great mod nice job looks great

@@jtbrv23 thank you mine is aluminum colored
@OverlandCitrus I see a future mod. I know you’re not afraid of spray paint

looks awesome, I'm going to do mine as well. Did you spray paint the bottom part of the van too?

How is the painted door rail holding up? Any signs of wear from door opening and closing?
