what i hate is when i play burn against the deck i see a land on top and my opponent at 3 and my opponent makes me main phase mill and its 3 lands in a row. losing to a smart player is meh but losing to a bad player with the deck is the worse
At 26:50, when Mark acknowledges that Pithing Needle resolves, that was his last chance to activate Scooze, I believe. Naming a card with Needle doesn't use the stack so he doesn't get to activate it in response.
You are correct. Without hearing any communication, it isn't clear that he did it before it resolved or after, but it looks like it was after. Given that Owen already won the game, I feel like neither player was really paying too close attention.
