Macklin Celebrini always seems to do the right thing with the puck. His thinking on ice and with this NHL speed and tempo is unbelievable. All these young guys are getting reps for the big time games to come. Go Sharks!!
@ryanbowlby859 He had 2 plays I recall as being pretty weak/led to rushes against. But - he was also relentless on the puck, maintained good positioning through most of the game, had some absolutely ridiculous playmaking attempts that just weren't finished. Was all crazy to see for my first live game of his.
As a long time listener I can't say how proud I am of you and your channel. People are starting to discover game analysis and seeing you're the goat. My favorite giant.
Suddenly the absence of Smith looks massive when just a few weeks ago he was a liability. Goodrow to 4th line please please please Kostin has gone from taking dumb penalties every game to just getting mercilessly screwed over by the refs every game (1 terrible call and a missed 4 minute high stick against him)
I thought this was their best game of the season and one of the most entertaining games (of all NHL teams) ive watched all season. didnt look like they missed shit at all to me. I sure didnt miss watching his constant turnovers and utter lack of confusion on the ice haha
I have indeed considered it, but I try to get my videos out the night of, and adding those aspects would significantly delay that. And as the other reply says, some do appreciate the style.
Not a terrible game but not a great game either. A lot of puck watching and getting a little too cute on the power play. I’ve seen it a lot this season where the sharks try to over pass instead of just putting the puck on net. The hurricanes for example are a high shot volume team and it creates all kinds of chaos and chances. Ironically on the 6 on 5 they actually do this quite well if they could just take that mentality into the 5 on 5 or PP they would probably have a lot more success.
Tank disruptor Blackwood is gone! Blow for Martone! All jokes aside I actually thought vanecek played pretty well yesterday, gave the sharks a chance to win
Sharks D is traaash lol And the forwards have too much faith in their D which makes the D even worse. No one can pass and no one can get the puck in the zone. And now that they're back in the Vanecek era, I'm not expecting any wins. Good luck next season, Sharks
Hey Professor, It occurred to me (probably an over reach on my part) but, as well as the Sharks had been playing prior to the most recent stretch of games where we began to see the team accumulate a fair amount of points and move up in the standings to like 10th worst team in the league. It even looked remotely possible if not probable that if the Sharks could continue their upward trajectory they might be a long shot for the final play off spot in the Western Conference. Maybe even justifying Mike Grier to make a move to bolster the roster rather than his consistent course of spinning off veteran players for picks and prospects? I realize that would be counter to what appears to be Grier's plan but, on the other hand Grier is coming off a really awful second season...the kind of season that can cost a GM their job AND it has been 5 years since the Sharks made a play off appearance. Given those circumstances and the argument by the commentators that coaches and players always strive to win do you suppose that perhaps some of the core veteran's like Granlund were holding onto a faint hope that the Sharks might not spin key players off this season IF they could show signs of life enough to justify at the very least not spinning players off even if no additions were made to bolster a shot at the play offs? I suspect 99% of hockey fans would poo-poo this far fetched notion but, it occurred to me perhaps the loss of a popular and arguably one of the key Sharks in Blackwood was a heavy blow to a team that needs every key player to have a chance to win games let alone attempting to turn the franchise around or even sniff a shot at the play offs? For a guy like Granlund who is himself an object of much speculation on an expiring contract perhaps he found himself demoralized a bit? Even veteran players are subject to human emotions particularly when the player in question is clearly one of the best players currently on the Sharks and a player who has proved himself capable of leading the charge and mentoring our younger players. I would not give any legs to this far fetched idea except that in my limited experience seeing Granlund play against the Sharks over the years I am not sure he has ever played better for any other team or seems to fit his teams current need so well as the Sharks have for Granlund at this stage of his career. Granlund seems very comfortable in this low pressure, low expectations environment and has proven himself to be exceptionally well suited to our current needs. Anyway, just a wild theory that probably has no merit at all. hahaha Pete Clovis, CA
I have considered this as well. It is why I mentioned that the locker room could have been deflated by Blackwood being traded. If the players really thought they had an outside chance of a playoff spot, but then management trades away their starting goalie to bring in a guy with horrible stats, it sends a very clear message.
@@professorhockey I think the message is: WINNING IS NOT THE POINT. The Sharks are NOT going to the playoffs this year, so what is the advantage to the continuing rebuild by finishing 10th from the bottom versus finishing in the bottom 4? NONE, it's a DISadvantage...
Dammit, didn't Vanacek get the memo? The Sharks dodged a bullet Tuesday, they could have won the Canes game. With our luck, our new goalie will make a complete turnaround and play his ass off and start winning, even with the crap defense in front of him. Still a lotta games left, ya never know...

i think he had the bad clear that led to the GWG but he is really great for an 18 YO

Thanks for sticking around all this time with me!
I love you professor, thank you for sticking with the sharks and being so consistent through the years!
Thanks! They’ll turn it around soon
Luke Kunin can... shoot? And score? He does that now?
Next you’re going to tell me that pigs can fly
trade him while his value is high!! ;p
That Burns goal was a beauty.
Miss our wookie
He's still playing well it looks like, big minutes on a top defensive team, very impressive.

Seems like the refs just expect him to take penalties now, so they just call for him any action he does

Good breakdown as usual. You ever consider using video, or pictures, to illustrate breakdowns of game play?
I actually like it this way, but not everyone feels the same.
I have indeed considered it, but I try to get my videos out the night of, and adding those aspects would significantly delay that. And as the other reply says, some do appreciate the style.
Then classes turn into a Teal Town 2 hour review of a 2.5 hour game. No. Just no...

Yeah the powerplay was a disaster as usual, strange since their 6 on 5 is pretty good
