She lost her daughter, her husband, and her grandson. This has been a long time coming, and I'm glad she is finally gonna get some answers at least. It's sad that KY has done away with grandparent rights, and they allowed Eli to stay with Brooks and his family and him being the main suspect from day one. Just blows my mind, Brooks whole family including his brother Nick, a former police officer knew what happened to Crystal. Not one of them came forward. Eli is another child the state has failed, truly hoping Sherry gets custody of him. Hoping they find evidence that they are also the ones that had something to do with Tommy Ballard's murder as well.
Thank for Lord for finally hearing our Prayers. I pray Crystal's Mom gets that grandbaby she has been forbidden to see all these years. May JUSTICE be served ALL the way around for this Family & they find Peace in their lives. God Bless!!!

@niahoward1920 Brooks complained to a judge that Crystal's family was speaking bad about him to his son and that the son would act differently toward him. The judge took away visitation after that.

Where not only did a young woman go missing, but then her father was shot & killed under mysterious circumstances while he was out hunting with a nephew or something. And the suspected killer in the young lady's disappearance has a brother who's LE. The whole thing stunk so bad! I lost track of the case but it's fantastic to hear he's been arrested. NOW GET HIS BROTHER!!!

Spot on! They think of their children as an extension of themselves. That's why they kill when someone threatens to take their children away- because it feels like an attack on them because their children are not individual humans to them. The craziest part is that they don't actually want to have fool with those kids. I wonder if his mom is the one who's mainly been raising Eli? They will often put the kids that they killed for off onto somebody else, and if they can't do that, they may end up killing the kid/s if they become too much of a bother. If a sociopath didn't want to fool with their kid, they would just walk out of their life lol, but a psychopath is too prideful, and they want people to think that they're a good person. It's all about the ever important vasad.

There is no doubt he did it, I watched all his interviews years ago , his cop brother failed a polygraph and they found blood all in the trunk of his car. Both of them should go down.

Been a suspect since 2015, now in custody with a $10M cash bond! Justice for Crystal.
At 5yo, my best mate saw his Dad kill his Mom (he died in prison). At my mates 30th, I looked at him & his 4 siblings. And I saw the endless ripples of a single act of domestic violence. Four kids orphaned, who grew up in the system (some with happier endings than others). Some now with their own kids, being raised by a Mom/Dad who never got to be a kid themselves.
It’s such a chronic issue in some of the ‘luckiest countries in the world’ - the U.S, U.K, Australia, etc.
Hearing how Crystals Mom is now fighting for custody of little Eli…really draws home that this is a never ending family legacy for the surviving victims of DV.
May all Crystals loved ones, but especially her Mom & kids, know peace & be able to find a way forward . They’ll never be the family they were. But I hope they can become a new version of their family, with many new moments of joy, connection, new traditions and memories, whilst holding the memory & love of Crystal & her Dad close, always.

Kentucky has no grandparent rights now, but giving the fact the mom is deceased and the father will likely get life in prison. It would only be right to give Sherry custody, Brooks parents covered it up. I think the reason they didn't want Eli to see Sherry is because he seen what happened to his mom that awful night. Brooks didn't want him telling, I think that's why he was kept from Crystal's family. Eli was with them that night on the farm, it's such a tragedy. Sherry has fought hard to keep Crystal's case open along with her husband's. She should be the one to get custody of him since she hasn't been able to see him for all these years, it may be hard on Eli. Being taken from the only family he's known, there's no telling what Eli has went through or how his little mind has been manipulated. If Eli does know the truth hopefully now that he's older he will bring the truth of that awful night to justice. I always thought it was strange that Eli was the only one with them that night, maybe because he was so young they thought he wouldn't remember. I couldn't image Eli's nightmares he's had all these years. Going to the farm with his mother and father, and his mother not going back home with him. Prayers that Sherry can finally get custody of her grandson, and she can get answers she deserves that's been a long time coming.

I think the guy that called him (Steve Lawson) late at night when he and Crystal were driving in his truck, is also involved. Along with his son Joseph! It’s extremely suspicious when Brook’s called Steve from the interrogation room with the detective. First of all, Brook’s acted like he couldn’t remember why Steve called him and even what his response was! Steve said he had a question about one of their properties and Brook’s replied that he would have to call Crystal because she is the one who handles all of that stuff. He had already told the detective that Crystal was sitting next to him in the truck! The detective called him out immediately as to why didn’t he just ask Crystal the question or better yet, just hand her the phone. Brook’s lame excuse was that Crystal wouldn’t want to deal with things that late in the evening. Brook’s, his brother, Nick, Steve Lawson and his son Joseph are knee deep in her murder and all need to be brought to justice!! Who knows who else is involved????
They arrested his friend Joseph Lawson three weeks ago, criminal conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence!
I Have wonderful memory's of the harden country detention center staff. in 1995 I was a drunk passenger in a fools car who was arrested for DUI. We were both from out of state just passing thru on our way to Knoxville for a 4 day country music event and needless to say we didn't make it. but while being locked up in the harden country drunk tank they treated me with the most respect and kindness and gave me the biggest plate of home made breakfast I ever received in a jail. the plate of food was all they gave me and when I asked how I was supposed to eat it they told with with the tools God provided for me. I was a bit puzzled for a moment but quickly figured it out. lord I was awful hungry and so grateful. right after i was done with my meal they released me free to go in the dark all alone not a clue where i was at. I was a little bummed they stole my 3 packs of smokes and lighter but i wasn't really in the mood for arguing at this point. I think I found the Interstate a bout 1 mile away at the end of this long dirt road. It was a long lonely walk but I was a free man again. *Hope someone enjoys this story for it's a real one* And No I don't drink or ride with drunks anymore
I actually know that jail too😉. I was a dumb 21 year old soldier from Ft Knox, and we got pulled over late one night off post there. We were going to the Waffle House to eat. I wasn’t driving bad or speeding. But I had been drinking earlier. I was under the legal limit of alcohol, thank God. Blew a .06. I was treated well…esp from a female officer that lectured me all the way back to my barracks. I got in a bit of trouble back on post. But since I wasn’t charged off post, I wasn’t back at Ft Knox either…just for being late, getting pulled over etc.
But I never did that stunt again! Driving after drinking I mean!

Yes, definitely! I live in the Deep South and have been following this case. I think most of us knew Brooks had murdered Crystal!! Since he was a deputy sheriff and his brother was a detective, I believe law enforcement protected him. Anyone who protected him in law enforcement should be charged, also! And I hope they learn who killed Crystal’s father when he took his young grandson hunting! I’m sure it was Brooks or a friend of his!! Without the FBI, there would probably not be an arrest!!

Ms'am,, understand this child is approximately a "Tween" now. Lived with his father for near entite life. He likely LOVES his father deeply n UNCONDITIONALLY. I n my Mrs decades ago,,were Foster Parents to a Tween from a sim6 situation. The Tween forced back after a year to the grandparents of the victim. He did NOT want to go. He was forced. The parent got convicted and once the Tween turned 18,,he left those grandpatents n NEVER spoke to them again. He does visit us n says he wished he could have stayed with us. OH,, he visits the life in prison incarcerated parent. We never speak to him about that case. I tthink the child is best in a permanent Foster home. Once 18 the child can decide which biological side of the famiky he wants a relationship with.

Seems as though everyone knew he was responsible. The FBI got the first arrest, who I'm betting Houck paid as an accomplice. That arrest then probably led to more evidence and his arrest.
Small town crimes usually involve some kind of corruption in an official capacity, so I hope they're continuing to investigate anyone else who might have assisted in this case. Doesn't Houck have relatives in Law Enforcement? That would be a good place to start.
