      I think the standards are coming with the 60's Slim taper profile now. Between the two, this one is just a little fatter and rounder. Not a baseball bat(which I would love) but not quite as thin as the 60's. Good in-between profile in my opinion.

    I have one of these in the tobacco sunburst. I played it against my LP Studio and my SG Standard and there is NO comparison. The Trad blows them both away and it has a monsterous tone. The SG would be 2nd and the studio 3rd as far as tone and sound quality. And I’ve always been an SG guy........Until I played this Trad.

    Hey Lucas! Great video! How would you describe the neck profile?

    • @LucasFowler
      @LucasFowler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MisterValaravaus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucas Fowler thanks! Would you say it fits right into your hand? Sorry if I’m asking all these questions but I have the opportunity to get one and it’s a fair drive so I don’t want to waste time if I don’t like the neck..!

    • @LucasFowler
      @LucasFowler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's very comfortable to me, but I like rounded necks and even chunky if I can find them. If you're more of an Ibanez wizard thin kinda player, this might not be your thing. But if you like traditional "C" shapes, this is very comfortable IMO. Hope that helps!

    I bought the 2018 Tribute model in faded honeyburst finish for £750 and it's a brilliant guitar and easily as good as the more expensive models costing 4 times the price.
    They're practically the same guitars as Traditionals & Standards etc but without the body & neck binding and gloss lacquer coating, plus mine came with different pickups to this, 490R neck & 498T bridge, which actually sound way better than the terrible sounding ones in this video !!
    I couldn't care less about the lack of binding or gloss lacquer, I prefer not having it to be honest, and to me it's foolish to spend 4 x the price just to have them. It's a shame that gibson have changed the spec of the 2019 Tribute to something that I wouldn't be interested in buying, but the 2018 model is great and in my opinion the pick of the different years of the Tribute. It also came in a satin gold top finish but I prefer the honeyburst myself.

  • @mariowanagat1412
    @mariowanagat1412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Gibson LP is mostly well made, but I always say find your neck, doesn’t matter if it’s a custom or standard Standard and throw all the electronic in the bin because Gibson is the worst of all the brands there is and buy aftermarket stuff, tons out there let it wire to your liking and use pots, bleeds and all that. You’ll find it’s relatively inexpensive and you most likely end up with the sound you want. It’s an electric guitar so put the electric components in it needs.
    I guess Gibson just goes let’s make everyone equally happy a shredder hard rocker and a R&B guy. Won’t work with Burst Buckers and 500k pots. That sound may work for hard rock loud as it gets bands but I play mostly clean blues and I hate them. A bit muddy? They are so bad that I first thought mine a faulty. You can’t get them sound right. They want to be distorted and played extremely loud. They are arguably the best looking guitar but they’re heavy and very inconsistent. I love the look but still have not found one I want to keep, they piss me off but I keep trying. Hopefully a Pearly Gates comes my way one day
