I love your enthusiasm for the 2.0 Camaro. I love my 4 cylinder Camaro as well, but am so tired of hearing all of the negative comments by the Camaro community. You have one fantastic car - thank you for the videos and getting the word out there!
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I figured there should be at least one channel taking this car to its limits. the video I posted right after this when I talk a little bit about the Camaro SS community like you were saying
I saw that video also and you are right! The Camaro is still really a V8 community and our car is considered a muscle car without the muscle or so they think. But, I love your way of promoting the 4. Eventually, with videos like these the engine will begin to be adopted (I hope). :-)
Only issue I have is reliability. I feel your pain as 2015 V6 Camaro Owner. But the V4 isn’t that reliable and it doesn’t make a lot of sense as a car besides to bring up Average MPG between Chevy fleet.
There fine as is and maybe tuned to 330 whp max ! , after that your playing with fire with the top rings , coils , misfires and spark plug blow out from too much boost . Either be happy stock at 275 crank hp from a 2 litre , or forged eternals are a must !
@@TheCoolestCourier I had the a V8, but curious what your gas mileage is like in the 4? Highest I achieved in the V8 was 41mpg following a 55-60mph uhual for 10 hours…
Yeah I was basically a Realty mailman in that car delivering escrow documents. But honestly you shouldn't be delivering anything in that expensive of a car. It was a mistake for sure. I now deliver in a 03 Lexus ES300 that's much more comfortable, indestructible, and was $7,000 with only 60k miles on it.
Modified engine tuning, exhaust and performance plus driving it hard while racking up the miles, your bound to have some issues and fixes. You won’t have this much fun and look this good for that price and if you do your still dealing with issues. I love the 2.0 turbo charged Gen6 Camaro, it really stands apart.
One of the things I'm planning on replacing when my warranty on my 2017 Camaro Turbo expires is to replace the shifter with a Hurst Billet shifter, I used to replace My shifter when the warranty ran out at 12K, but being 36 k I've been holding off on this mod. Down pipe and a tune will follow that shortly there after. Nice video and update!
I also have eagle rods, wiseco pistons, zzp intake;throttle body;catless downpipe;flex fuel sensor, mishimoto intercooler with charge pipes and a secondary cat delete.
Hi, I actually had that weird jump happen to me for the first time on my 2018 Camaro, I was giving it gas but had to stop at a stop light I braked in time but the weird 2 jump happened to, like it definitely didn’t sound good. I drove normally after that and didn’t have any more issues, I even found a street to do a quick pull in, didn’t get passed 55 but it shifted fine. But yeah I know what you’re talking about when you have to left off the gas to fast now lol. Will be careful with that. V6 if you’re wondering
I have the same problem with first gear when your in a red light if you don’t gas it right it struggles and when your at high speed and you trying to flore it it get stuck at 3000 rpm And when doing a reverse the transmission get stuck for a minute
I have a question if anybody could answer has anyone ever put 3:73 gears into their 2.0 Camaro and if so what was your response or I mean it's response?
Nice video and camaro. I just passed 50k on my 2SS. Issues have been a cracked starter shield and electrical non-start issue where the fuse box and some wiring had to be replace. Most likely due to an aftermarket audio system install. I would have stayed with the stock audio if I knew that was going to be the case :/ Tires are definitely expensive. I ditched the Eagle F1s for Michelin Pilot Sport Comp 4s which have superior wet traction and handling I might add.
Congrats! I leased a 2SS and was worried about the overall reliability if i need to buy out after 39 months.I really love the car. Is your 2SS manually or A8? What maintenance have you done besides oil change and tire rotation.

Hello. I have a 2016 V6 Camaro listing issues I've had. Temperature sensor quit. Replaced the sensor which is underneath the intake manifold. Replaced the thermostat. Replace the computer. $3,000 later still doesn't work. Tachometer quit. Will likely have to replace the entire cluster. Transmission every 20000 miles has to be flushed and fluids changed or it gets a deathly wobble and starts shifting up and down constantly. GM really should have fixed these issues. Huge fan of Camaros. This broke me. No wonder it's being discontinued
What kind of exhaust do you have? I have a bone stock 2018 Camaro 2.0T manual LS but I want to put an exhaust on it without voiding the warranty. It has to be a bolt on versus a cut. My question is what do you recommend because I want to make a little more power with some good noise while still keeping my warranty? I want to spend at maximum $650 for the system. Also, should I do a straight pipe system or get a muffler? Axle back or cat back?
If you were looking to modify a turbo 4-cylinder car while keeping your warranty I would have absolutely recommended a Fiesta ST, a Focus ST, Focus RS or a Mustang EcoBoost. You can do so much with those cars through mountune and keep your warranty. I would ask your dealership what you can or cannot do. The only exhaust setup I recommend is a muffler delete or straight pipe setup with no Muffler and a catless downpipe. it's the cheapest and in my opinion it sounds the best. That is how my exhaust to set up right now. I would tune your car through zzp, unleashing about 50 horsepower and 100 pound feet of torque. Then get a cold air intake and a strictly LTG blow off valve (both for sound, they do not add any power) and you're good to go my man that is a fun car at that point.
Exhaust does not void the warranty at all. It does nothing to hurt the car in anyway. Especially if it is an axle back or anything past sensors. I removed my muffler and had it straight piped.
Hey man i just purchased one of these a couple weeks ago. 2018 camaro rs 2.0t and I’m just wondering if it’s reliable for long term, like if there will be any major engine failure or anything after driving it for long. I’m not a crazy driver lol but i do like stepping on it from time to time. Although i do like the car and did a muffler delete on it. yeah I got a daily when the camaro reached 60,000 miles. way too late. the car is now at 86,000 miles and unsellable with a value of $12,000. At least I like the camaro enough to keep it.
Hes saying that the lower end camaros like the lt and rs are not as reliable as an ss for the ZL1 its hard to say because no one is driving ZL1 daily as far as i heard i havent heard anything bad in reliability on the ZL1
For the blind spot monitoring check the sensors and clean them probably just dirty sensors. And i dont think its the mounts that are causing the jults if i would guess it eithers your transmission the gears are worn. Or your turbo is not working correctly and when you get on it your rpm is to quick and your turbo cant keep up until it spoils up.
@@TheCoolestCourier for the sensors just clean them off for the transmission or turbo either the transmission needs rebuilt or you need a new turbo. Theirs no magical fix for those
Wow that's scary but massive miles a year I feel. Being an Aussie we never got this here in big numbers. Only HSV brought them in making RHD only coming in as V8 Cheapest were 100k So they didn't sell many. Mustangs are here and were selling well for our size market (I am a Ford man and stangs are my car since I was a little kid) I was luck enough to drive a convertible camro through part of your beautiful country 2 years ago. Vegas to San Francisco back to LA could not get the smile of my face. I do love the car and their look but if I was to lay out that money here I would want some assurance that it is going to be something special.
Hey what do u think about what I'm trying to do? Right now I'm working on cosmetics still, getting my 2.0 ceramic coated the coming 5th. After that I'm gonna be adding side skirts, front lip and get a carbon fiber hood and trunk. After that it's coilovers and better set of lighter wheels.
I'm the wrong guy to ask. I've done only the cheapest things possible cosmetics wise, I think the suspension is very good the way it is, the RS wheels are already very light. I have given all of my attention to making this car faster.
The Camaro is a much better car and many Chevrolet dealerships are offering 150,000 mile warranties on their used vehicles, definitely find one that's doing that and go with the SS
Not the starter but my engine had to be rebuilt at 66,000 miles. Right outside of warranty so it was out of pocket and made me car poor for a couple years. I got lucky and got out of it and sold it for a pretty high price. I briefly had an Acura Integra but sold that is well and now I don't own any sports cars I drive a Lexus ES300 as the daily and ride motorcycles for fun. I just put videos up on both of the bikes. It's a much cheaper and effective way to get Thrills and then you can just drive around whatever cheap reliable car
The car is not making 800 horsepower at the Pistons and rods we installed are rated for 800 horsepower applications, the car is only making 300 wheel hp
Have you had any transmission issues? Theirs a problem when shifting sometimes the car will shake and the transmission just kinda bad any advice on what to do?
I have a transmission problem....I here some little vibrations doing a smooth acceleration when the RPM are between 1500 and 2000.....I have to go to the dealer and I think they will replace the transmission fluid with a new one .
No it was the manual and the motor blew twice, it turned into a financial burden and finally got rid of it last year. I was running an aggressive tune so I only recommend people leave this stock if they're going to own this car, if you want more power you can get a mint low mileage C5 ZO6 Corvette for the same money.
I want the 2016 Camaro. I have nothing against 4 cylinder engines but I’m still torn between the i4 and V6 engine. What kind of gas mileage have you been getting ?
Mine is tuned so around 21 MPG. If you're worried about saving money on gas you shouldn't even be looking at a Camaro, the tires are ridiculous expensive and they're not very reliable my needed an engine rebuild at 66,000 miles. I would honestly look at 2016 Miata or a Scion FR-S, both Superfun, reliable, lightweight, and great on gas and consumables.
I get between 28 and 30 mpg highway , 2016 Camaro 2.0 , 6 speed , 50 k miles , no issues , love the LTG ! Premium gas , dexos full synthetic oil , change oil every 3,000 with an AC Delco PF 64 filter , very important ! dont cheap out streching that oil change to 5,000 miles and DO NOT lug it , downshift down a gear or two before you hammer on it 👍
The Coolest Courier it’s me Canefed lol Intake, muffler delete, pistons, rods, mishimoto catch cans, 47k Miles running good! You do have me wanting to change my spark plugs
The Coolest Courier I can’t say it makes much a difference on the gains side but it does sound good. Strictly LTG told me he was sending me a bov to check out and he never followed through so I’m not gonna expect anything from them. I sold my build LTG motor, still planning on running the 50mm turbo, I’m gonna go a new direction with the build.
That's pretty bad that the BSM went out after only 2 years. I would have complained to GM about that and they should have fixed it free of charge, you should be asking them to fix anything that goes wrong with it no matter the miles it has when its 4 years and younger. They have people employed to deal with that, warranty administrators.
Damn this video is from 2018 aug, almost a year later, he's probably at 200k miles 🤣🤣🤣 Im debating if I should turn this car back in after the lease or just keep it only owe like $17,000k, I just dont want a bunch of random problems
my expressions on that video do look ridiculous lol. It wasn't fear though it was just excitement, it was really fun going that quick in the passenger seat, he's a really good driver and knows that road really well.

Props to you bro and nice ass car too I really want a camaro specifically the Zl1 in red but I can settle for a turbo inline 4 any day.

hey i’m looking into getting my first camero at 45k miles on it is it reliable i’m thinking of a 1 LT with warranty. I’m not looking to race it mainly for traveling to school work and back home (7hrs away) from time to time would you recommend?
As a luxury and highway car it is excellent and if you're going to own it under warranty I think it's great for that. If you're going to keep it stock I think the car can be decently reliable but my motor blew twice because of an aggressive tune.
Jimmy Brooks Okay gotcha so stay away from tuning and I should have a pretty reliable car correct ? Also I drive may be 12000 a year so i’m hoping it last awhile i’m in college so I can’t just keep buying cars 😭 just a little nervous
I know most people in college don't have full-time jobs so if I'm being honest unless you're making north of 60k a year on the side, the newer Camaros are not going to be financially friendly to you. they are very expensive to own. Best bang for your buck on fun are 90s manual Hondas or a Miata. best bang for your buck on a reliable cruiser which is what you seem to be looking for is a 97 to 2006 accord or Camry. If you must have something nicer look at a v6 Lexus of the same years. If you want more performance than Lexus then a C5 Corvette is pretty good all around for about 9k. and every other car besides the Corvette I named is much cheaper than that. all I can say is don't get strapped with a loan, buy your cars cash. Paying interest on anything other than a mortgage is setting money on fire.
I made the mistake of buying a 2015 6 cylinder. Already had the purge valve replaced, been stalled on numerous times. Key gets stuck in ignition. It’s a piece of shit for a beautiful car, sucks.
hey there, i have a 2015 V6 too. I'm at 95K and only issue i ever had was replacing the knock sensors. BTW that annoying key thing. i know how to fix that if you're interested! my car used to do that too but I undid a wire behind the ignition so the key no longer gets stuck
Have a garage sale.. you've got all your old boxes, filled with your past, that's filled, with slightly semi sentimental garbage.. then you got a nice shiny new camaro, that you touch everyday.. let those, old boxes, go, and move on.. quit driving, so much, and leaving those things, you meant, to do, in those boxes.
If I could go back in timeI would have never bought a new car and used the money for a down payment on a house. but if I could go back and I still absolutely had to buy a Camaro for some reason it would absolutely be the SS slightly used for about 30k

And i dont think its the mounts that are causing the jults if i would guess it eithers your transmission the gears are worn. Or your turbo is not working correctly and when you get on it your rpm is to quick and your turbo cant keep up until it spoils up.
you might be right, are there any fixes for that?
@@TheCoolestCourier for the sensors just clean them off for the transmission or turbo either the transmission needs rebuilt or you need a new turbo. Theirs no magical fix for those
@@alexwalter3563 damn its probably worn gears. that sounds expensive
@@TheCoolestCourier is it manual or auto?
Hello I own a 2016 camaro 2ss and I got 130000 k already with no uses and I still love my car
That's awesome. Chevy knows how to build a V8
Wow that's scary but massive miles a year I feel.
Being an Aussie we never got this here in big numbers. Only HSV brought them in making RHD only coming in as V8 Cheapest were 100k
So they didn't sell many. Mustangs are here and were selling well for our size market (I am a Ford man and stangs are my car since I was a little kid)
I was luck enough to drive a convertible camro through part of your beautiful country 2 years ago.
I'm hoping someone makes a supercharger kit for the 2.0 someday but if not, then I'll probably get a bigger turbo kit
I'm the wrong guy to ask. I've done only the cheapest things possible cosmetics wise, I think the suspension is very good the way it is, the RS wheels are already very light. I have given all of my attention to making this car faster.
What is the tire size? I like those design
It was 265 Michelin PS4s
Hey bro should I buy a 16 2ss with 70k miles on it ? Or should I get a Dodge Challenger RT with lower mileage on it ?
The Camaro is a much better car and many Chevrolet dealerships are offering 150,000 mile warranties on their used vehicles, definitely find one that's doing that and go with the SS
@@TheCoolestCourier right on bro , Did you ever have any issues with your starter in your camaro ?
Not the starter but my engine had to be rebuilt at 66,000 miles. Right outside of warranty so it was out of pocket and made me car poor for a couple years. I got lucky and got out of it and sold it for a pretty high price. I briefly had an Acura Integra but sold that is well and now I don't own any sports cars I drive a Lexus ES300 as the daily and ride motorcycles for fun. I just put videos up on both of the bikes. It's a much cheaper and effective way to get Thrills and then you can just drive around whatever cheap reliable car
@@TheCoolestCourier kool man thanks for the input and advice. Be safe on those bikes !!
One more question , why is the camaro ss better then the Dodge Challenger RT? In your opinion
I’m confused that your wondering why your motor mounts are trashed when you said you have 800 hp when the motor mounts are designed for the stock hp
The car is not making 800 horsepower at the Pistons and rods we installed are rated for 800 horsepower applications, the car is only making 300 wheel hp
The engine internals are rated for 800 hp.
Have you had any transmission issues? Theirs a problem when shifting sometimes the car will shake and the transmission just kinda bad any advice on what to do?
The transmission is bad. I would sell the car and buy a cheaper car cash. 8th gen Civic SI if you need a daily, Integra if you want a fun car.
I have a transmission problem....I here some little vibrations doing a smooth acceleration when the RPM are between 1500 and 2000.....I have to go to the dealer and I think they will replace the transmission fluid with a new one .
How did u get black mirrors? Are they wrapped, did u paint them yourself?
I plasti dipped them black
dude are you running an A8? Any issues on your way to 80k miles? Have you had chevy replace the TQ or done any after market work on it?
No it was the manual and the motor blew twice, it turned into a financial burden and finally got rid of it last year. I was running an aggressive tune so I only recommend people leave this stock if they're going to own this car, if you want more power you can get a mint low mileage C5 ZO6 Corvette for the same money.
Sorry to hear man
How did the Michelin PS4S tires hold up? I'm planning to pick up a set!
they are still great 15000 miles in!
Pretty informative 🔥
Thanks
I want the 2016 Camaro. I have nothing against 4 cylinder engines but I’m still torn between the i4 and V6 engine. What kind of gas mileage have you been getting ?
Mine is tuned so around 21 MPG. If you're worried about saving money on gas you shouldn't even be looking at a Camaro, the tires are ridiculous expensive and they're not very reliable my needed an engine rebuild at 66,000 miles. I would honestly look at 2016 Miata or a Scion FR-S, both Superfun, reliable, lightweight, and great on gas and consumables.
Jimmy Brooks well my lifted Jeep Wrangler JKU is getting around 12 mpg so I was just asking out of curiosity. Thanks
I get between 28 and 30 mpg highway , 2016 Camaro 2.0 , 6 speed , 50 k miles , no issues , love the LTG ! Premium gas , dexos full synthetic oil , change oil every 3,000 with an AC Delco PF 64 filter , very important ! dont cheap out streching that oil change to 5,000 miles and DO NOT lug it , downshift down a gear or two before you hammer on it 👍
Ayo 40k miles a year???
It was a delivery car. Bad idea don't deliver anything in an expensive car lol
I have forged rods and pistons bro! Callie ultra rods and Diamond Pistons
That's awesome, what other modifications are done to yours?
The Coolest Courier it’s me Canefed lol
Intake, muffler delete, pistons, rods, mishimoto catch cans, 47k Miles running good! You do have me wanting to change my spark plugs
Oh! haha the picture was so small I didn't notice. I need a damn intake already, if for no other reason just the sound.
@@chrisohtm I can't wait to see a big turbo on one of these engines.
That's pretty bad that the BSM went out after only 2 years. I would have complained to GM about that and they should have fixed it free of charge, you should be asking them to fix anything that goes wrong with it no matter the miles it has when its 4 years and younger. They have people employed to deal with that, warranty administrators.
are warranty administrators in the dealership?
Damn this video is from 2018 aug, almost a year later, he's probably at 200k miles 🤣🤣🤣
Im debating if I should turn this car back in after the lease or just keep it only owe like $17,000k, I just dont want a bunch of random problems
haha, i know right? I'm at 87k, it mainly just sits in the garage now until its paid off or someone buys it.
@@TheCoolestCourier hahah nice, I ended up giving the 2016 Camaro back to the dealer and I got a 2019 EcoBoost very different car
That's interesting I was able to get over 103,000 miles out of my spark plugs in my 2018 camaro ss
Damn, that's a lot.
Aren't you the dude who did a SmokingTire One take with this car and you had a look of fear on your face the whole time lol?
my expressions on that video do look ridiculous lol. It wasn't fear though it was just excitement, it was really fun going that quick in the passenger seat, he's a really good driver and knows that road really well.
Jimmy Brooks Hey man I’m just giving you hard time cuz deep down I’m way too self conscious too be on camera with hundreds of thousands of random people watching and pointing out every single thing wrong with me even pointing out new shit just to make me even more insecure lol. Props to you bro and nice ass car too I really want a camaro specifically the Zl1 in red but I can settle for a turbo inline 4 any day.
Good God Man, 80k miles!!!! Damn Jimmy lol. I drive 20k miles a year and I think that’s a lot of miles 😬 nevertheless I KNOW YOU LIKE TO DRIVE AND YOUR JOB DOES IT. I wished I had the blind spot monitors on my ss. The ss 1 doesn’t have it. Just last week on the freeway I almost hit a car changing lanes 😱 my mustang gt doesn’t have that problem SEEING lol. Your RS Still looks pretty new for 80k miles thou 👍
Thanks man, Its in a garage so it doesn't see a lot of sunlight, and I always keep it clean.
Ss comes with 20" wheels...
My friend you said 800 horsepower are you trying to tell me that you put that car on a dyno test and I gave you 800 horsepower come on bro be honest I just bought a four-cylinder turbo 2023 with 14,000 MI can you really get 800 horses out of it that seems way too high there is a Guy on TH-cam that did forged pistons and forged rods add messed around with the tuning and he claims 450 horsepower or something like that but you're staying 800 horsepower come on bro tell me you have a video of when you took it to the dyno test I hope you answer this one so basically you're telling us that it beats hellcats
No that just what the rods and pistons are rated for. You can't actually get that kind of power out of these
hey i’m looking into getting my first camero at 45k miles on it is it reliable i’m thinking of a 1 LT with warranty.
Facts turbo charged engines eat spark plugs.
Yeah they definitely do
I got 90k on mine everything works perfect.
Stock Tune right?
New sparkplugs every 30k miles??? Wtf
My mechanic had an SRT4 neon that needed them every 5000 miles. Granted it was the world record neon with 800 horsepower but still lol
@@TheCoolestCourier that's ridiculous!
I made the mistake of buying a 2015
6 cylinder.
80k on my 16 2ss oil changes and brakes tires nothing else been a great car .
Awesome!
That was my parents house at the time
If it’s not a V-8 it’s not a camaro.
Agreed. Chevy should have made a smaller car with this engine like brz size.
WOW.. you love to drive and deliver... LOL
You should just get an SS to answer your last question.. why start at the bottom? Get the power!
If I could go back in timeI would have never bought a new car and used the money for a down payment on a house. but if I could go back and I still absolutely had to buy a Camaro for some reason it would absolutely be the SS slightly used for about 30k
How has the car held up?...well we replaced the fucking engine.
my camaro has 80,000 miles and it’s a 2012
Nice. Yeah those were more reliable
Gibby!
Clutch..
Why do white guys in video thumbnails on TH-cam always look like 😨😯😦😧😮😲😵
I'm Mexican but I'm so light and white washed even I forget sometimes lol
Jimmy Brooks oop I’ll just open mouth and insert foot 😶
Would never buy an American 4 cyl or 6 cyl engine especially in a Camaro!
I don't blame you, at the time 10k off sticker was very compelling for a brand new camaro
2.0
Turbo
No.
I agree, simply because the quality of that particular motor is not great
My mom has a 2012 Honda Civic with 54,504 miles 🤣
I know right? I just picked up a 2010 Yamaha xt250 with 410 miles on it.
My is doing the same thing....53000...2016 1tl. V6
Damn
😂 🤣 😂 🤣
