If you’re playing on controller, how did you make the notes different colors? I can’t get mine to do that unless I do pro lead or bass

there's a setting in the game options for different colored notes even on gamepad play

Settings > Game > Festival > Use Pro Colors for All Parts.
If you want to go back to purple just disable it.
