That is a nice looking kit and it certainly is detailed. The finish on the model looks great. Thanks for sharing this.

Very neat review and excellent build Doug! The reason I haven't built any trailers for any of my tractors is because of the shelf space. I have a Texaco tanker and Coca Cola dry van trailer in my stash!

i did the same thing but I copy off the movie Smokey and the Band 2 and my white Kenworth over the roof and carry more cars and trucks.

I am building this kit ATM. I have some confusion about the correct height to install the rear bumper bracket? The instructions show it mounted level with the top and the U shaped part hanging below. The box art shows it set up high. Your model is part way in between? Which is correct to get the best angle.?

Bill, We decided to split the difference there and it seems to be adequate. As this model is not ascribed to a manufacturer there's no way to know for sure where it's located. The best thing to do is look for real world examples to get an idea of the best placement. Please subscribe if you haven't already, to help us continue our mission to help more modelers! -Doug!

@@RightOnReplicas I did mine as per the instructions, but I am going to bump it up a bit. It's easy to do because it just holds the two rearmost ramps and is completely independent of the rear bumper. I will assemble the rest of the model and decide which position I like best.

I actually just built this kit a couple of months ago, and I would say it went together more easily than I thought (almost like a snap-together model in some instances), with the only real challenges being the wiring and attaching the chains on the upper deck. I wanted to free up some display space in my cabinet and I paired it up with the Revell Peterbilt 359, which I had just rebuilt after it had been out of commission for several years.

Built a few tractors and trailers years back as a kid.

Great review Doug. Love the colors!
I picked one of these up earlier this year - I'm pretty sure it's a re-release as the price was "normal" for a kit like this. So, if someone's looking for one, shop around; they're available. I purchased mine for two reasons, 1) it's a great looking kit giving many options for paint schemes, and 2) due to limited display space, this kit is ideal to display a few cars/trucks in a smaller space. ;)

Hi, thank you so much for sharing this video, it's going to help me out a lot especially with the hosing and how to attach them.
I have the original 1983 issue of the model given to me by a friend but the 83 manual isn't all that clear and it's going to be my first build.
I'm quite proud of the fact the model is even older than myself so I want to do the best job I can on it and your video wil surely help me out on that.
Ps my friend also gave me a rare 1984 model of a Peterbilt 353 "Alaska" to go in front of the trailer I will built after the trailer is done.
    Greetings from the Netherlands.

Ed, I don't think they sell mail order, just in-store. They won't have this kit though. It's been out of production for years. You would have to look on eBay-type stores.
