    Thank you to all the people who have been clicking our Amazon link: amzn.to/3gg8Iq9 before they buy anything on Amazon, it gives us some of Amazon's money for each thing you're already going to buy anyways :) We appreciate it!

    Love seeing these old EMs running again.
    Usually I would be cautious changing to the "high tap" as this potentially can shorten the life of the coils and relays, but I think this machine benefits from it.
    It will tend to make the coils a bit noisier though 🙂.
    Thanks for another great repair and test 🙂

    It looks so different in the light and then lit up in the dark, it like two different games. The backglass goes from comic pulp to stylish and moody

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, part of that is because it's faded but I think they kind of designed them like that, depending on where you put it and how much light was there, they may have wanted two different looks. In a dark bowling alley bar, it looks moody, but in a roller skating rink it looks more like a comic.

      @@LyonsArcade Depends on what is better.. you could make some mods (on the chimes at least).. If they're too loud, you could try stubs from a xylophone instead... vs the metallophone things now.. It'll sound a lot mellower...
      Or does he mean the sound of the actual wheels? .. No idd.. it's how they sound.. that's also why old cashregisters sound that way too.... It's not an intended sound, it's just the sound of the thing working

      @@LyonsArcade the machine completely resets and will not score anything on the play field. It has general illumination the bonus unit will reset and the plunger on the left side of the machine will actuate but no scoring no flippers no pot bumpers at all.additionally this all happened as the machine was blowing the 25 volt fuse . The left and right pop bumpers were not working properly the right has a burnt coil and the left if the ball hit it would short out and blow the fuse in my opinion. I was working on the pop bumpers when this happened.

    Joe's Classic, when looking at the EM schematic of the normally open switches, how do you know which ones are the "end of stroke" switches on the score reels because the EM schematic doesn't say which contact switches are the end of stroke switches on the score reels?

    • @waynegram8907
      @waynegram8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always the normally closed switches in series are the end of stroke switches for the score reels relay coils?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It usually says actually, not sure if it did on these or not, it'll say "E.O.S." or something like that... they have to label it so you can know where it is, and the only way to refer to it is the end of stroke switch.

    • @waynegram8907
      @waynegram8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      E.O.S is not listed on the Normally Open switch or Normally Closed switch on the schematic part where its drawn out with the coils ands switch contacts. It must have the E.O.S information on the right side of the schematic part?

    • @waynegram8907
      @waynegram8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm talking about the end of stroke switches on the score reels not the flippers EOS switches

    • @waynegram8907
      @waynegram8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But the schematic that shows all the coils, normally open switches, normally closed switches "does not" label on the schematic wiring diagram which switches are the EOS on the score reels. This is confusing when trying to figure out which of the contact switches on the EM schematics are EOS for each store reel. Each Store reel will have an EOS switch but the EM schematics won't tell you or have labelled them on the schematics. EM pinball games that use AC voltages have Jet bumper coils and EM pinball games that use DC voltages have Removed the Jet Bumper coils, any reasons why?

  • @seymourshabow
    @seymourshabow 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Might be worth sticking a bridge rectifier in this game for the flippers and maybe for the sling and pops. No drops to break on this game and nothing really close to cause airballs although the varitarget might be a victim there.

  • @mattriley1426

    Just curious, so how many hours did you charge to repair this game?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't charge by the hour we just charge by the job, I believe that particular one was about $400 when all was said and done getting it all working again, cleaning and servicing all the relays and steppers, cleaning and re rubbering the playfield, etc. typically we just take a look at it, figure out what it's gonna take and then quote a price for the whole thing. On the EM's there's usually not much money that needs to be spent on parts, it's mainly time and effort.

    • @mattriley1426
      @mattriley1426 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LyonsArcade Yes, based on the time I have spent on cleaning points ect. ect. 400 was a great price for all you did!
