- One of the speculations that have been doing rounds is if the RBI is planning to relaunch Rs 1000 denomination notes. The RBI governor addressed it once and for all, while also giving an explanation of why the country's central bank thinks that the impact of the 2000 note withdrawal would be minimal on the economy. Last week, the central bank announced its decision to withdraw the Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes from circulation as part of its 'Clean Note Policy'.
Rs 2,000 banknotes were introduced in November 2016 to address the urgent currency requirements of the economy following the withdrawal of the legal tender status of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes.

Given that the rate of inflation is getting higher and higher every year, if RBI doesnt introduce a higher denomination of currency.. we will have to carry multiple bundles of 500 rupee notes in 10-15 years time
Most people won’t carry physical currency in the future. Mostly those who deal Black money will still use Physical money

@@LplusRatioLol we carry physical money. Most indians carry physical money only.
@@Jesssco physical money is only 13% of the total circulation. In another 10 years it will be less than 10%. It doesn't matter much now. People pay with UPI/ cards/ direct bank transfers/ cheque these days.

How foolish to speak about Rs 1000/ notes , is printing notes is it free , do you know about the printing costs and logistics expenditure of taking it all over India , who will bare the cost, expenditure of it, it looks so funny to watch the RBI governor giving the statement as if everything done is free of cost

If you are serious remove 500 also….we don’t need anything above 100….as we don’t need higher denominations ….US only has 100 dollar max….this will make black money difficult…and will introduce digital one
RBI has made it clear to rest the all sort of apprehensions .It's not going to impact any one and also adequate time avaible to deposit.
