- Queen Elizabeth II set out details of the government’s legislative programme for the next Parliamentary session in a speech to MPs and peers in the House of Lords.
The 22 new bills in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s agenda include measures to help the UK prosper after Brexit, more support for the NHS, tackling serious and violent crime, and investing in science and infrastructure.
The Queen’s Speech tradition can be traced back to the 16th century, and it represents the only regular time when the three components that make up Parliament - the Sovereign, the House of Commons and the House of Lords - come together.

I truly hope that the United Kingdom never strays from these traditions. It is so humbling to see these values and formality still in use today. I worry that when the younger generations inherit the crown, that they will no longer maintain these ceremonies and traditions. Everything from the guard, their uniforms, the carriage, the entrance of Her Majesty and her speech is all perfection in my eyes.

I think you will see some minor diminishing of these traditions when Charles becomes king and a greater diminishing when William modernizes the monarchy.
I don't think you have to worry about whether future generations will uphold this and other traditions, they are currently involved in supporting the Monarch in many traditional ceremonies as well as their own charitable endeavours. Prince Charles has said that he fully realises that being Monarch is very different to being Prince of Wales

I used to make jewelry for a living. In general massive pieces of jewelry can be quite heavy. Honestly I don't know how her little neck survived the day she was crowned let alone at her advanced age. Even the lighter weight crown she wore in this must be quite heavy. Victoria had a good idea wearing the miniature crown that she did. Wouldn't be a bad idea for her majesty to have something like that made up for her but she seems a stubborn woman insisting on tradition. I admire that but I think her health needs to come first.

One would hope Charles would be more involved. After all, he will one day be king and he's going to have to know how to take over all the duties at some point. She has what? Five, maybe ten years left?
I think she has an underline illness. Shes handing charities and roles over quicker this year and she has just closed the Queens Trust and another Trust with Harry and new name has been opened to replace it as such. Charlies is heavily more involved. Rumours shes "retiring" at 95years old could have some truth. She is still Queen, however Charlies will be in the role and doing the work under her.
