Surely USA champions not world champions? It has to be an international competition to be “ world” champions. Always sounds funny to me. USA is not “the world”.
They're the "World Champions" in baseball, NFL and basketball because the best players/highest competition league is in the USA. If you win that, you're the best in the world. Conversely, The NHL hockey champion is called the "Stanley Cup Champion" not the "World Champion" for that reason. North Americans can't say for certain that the NHL Champion is the best team in the world, so they don't call them that.

As a Texan and Houston sports fan, I would honestly rather have a classy(to me at least) city like Boston he dominant in sports instead of NY, LA, and of course...that “other” city in TX!! 😒 Congratulations to 4 great teams and a great city!!
We've got 5 titles since 2000 with a 5-1 record in championship appearances during that span. That doesn't even cover the great run of dominance we had with the bulls winning 6 titles in the 90's. We might not have the crazy success that Boston teams have enjoyed for the better part of the past 20 years but we've definitely had it a lot better than many other big time sports cities during that same period. Fans in Washington and Minnesota (who've combined for 1 sports title since 1991) would kill to have the recent track record of success in sports that we've had in Chicago. Our biggest gap between championships was June 1998 through October 2005 which isn't too bad considering the droughts many other markets have experienced.

Also didn’t have a regulation loss at home till January 12th.. just crazy. Then there is the Celtics, who are currently 33-12, where 2nd place in the east Bucks is only at 29-16, Nuggets lead the west at 32-13, putting the Celtics atop the NBA as well. Winning 8 of their last 10 & averaging 118.8 points per game. Just NUTTY. This is as of January 18th, 2023.

Winning the first title in franchise history or the first in a very long time is a very strong feeling, Once that team wins multiple in a very short time the feeling isnt as jubilant. It stills feels great as all the championships felt by it wasnt as special as that first one
As a Philly fan. We can say LA is second and NY is third. Almost all of LA sports are very successful despite of Dodgers and Rams failing to win. Had they beat both Boston teams, I'm sure their fans would be claiming LA as title town too. Since 2001 Lakers 5 NBA champs, Angels 1 WS, Ducks 1 SC, Kings 2 SC and Galaxy 5 MLS Cup. Kinda unfair because LA and NY have so many teams.
