You are so transparent. Thank you. I started my store in 2008, but only posted 1 free product. When I came back in 2017 my product had 17K downloads! Wow, I thought I should turn it into a paid resource, so did some changes, added some things and now it's my top seller. I still didn't get serious until last year about September/October 2020. You are so right when you say it's a ton of work. I now have 68 products, 6 are free. I am also at the end of my career so it's not as easy to come up with something that is not already out there. I do know that great descriptions with keywords are important, previews are a must, and researching titles are very helpful. At the end of 2020, I made about $403. This year since January I have made $430 (in 5 months). I am doing much better but still far from the 1000's some make per month. I'm sure those teachers are young, with lots of energy. I am not, but I will not give up. Thank you. I love seeing a face of an older teacher, it's so encouraging. Many Blessings to you.

Yesterday I commented on a different video of yours that I had just opened my store but hadn't had a sale yet, but today I had my first 2! I missed the first cha-ching but I heard the second, and it was for a bundle!! I squealed a little 🤗

I’m an introvert and trying to figure out how to promote my store without having an anxiety attack. Lol. This summer will be spent making products. Reaching for fifty products by the end of July.

Hi Helen, it's really up to you. It's better to start with 1 until you feel comfortable adding another. I prefer Pinterest but that's me. I have a friend who is new to TPT and is just doing Instagram and enjoys it.
I am taking a course with Misty Miller and I am loving it. Hoping you have a boom card course by August so I can sign up. My goals for August and September will be $200 each month.
I an so very brand new to this yet a very veteran teacher/tutor. I don't have the first product on TPT, or Boom, or anywhere else yet, but I want it so badly. I have felt nervous and overwhelmed since I started really entertaining the thought. Plus, the reputation that follows me no matter how many districts I've taught in (with humor) is how technology challenged I am. I'm always that challenged one in the room, the one that if anything "CAN" go wrong between me and technology, it will! I try to imagine the looks on the faces of all my former coworkers if I tell them I plan to start a TPT store. It makes me laugh because I know they would laugh, too. But thanks to you, I feel a sense of relief. You mentioned having "a win" and " the first Cha-ching" in this video. Well, I didn't have to wait for my first sell for that. I consider your videos by first win and my first cha-ching. I hit the Jack Pot. Your ability to connect with people and teach is a God send for me and others. THANK YOU so much. Connie, you can truly do this! I started as a buyer back in 2012 and never dreamed of creating products because I believed I wasn't creative enough. I had said in a couple videos that I am graphically challenged. It takes a lot for me when it comes to design (which is why Canva has been a blessing). Thank you for your kind words. These videos are to help teachers see that they are not alone in their struggles. We all have to start with the first product (which has to be a freebie btw). I didn't tell any colleagues when I started on TPT because I didn't think my products were good enough. Learning tech is something that you can LEARN. We're teachers - we've learned A LOT! Don't overthink this - just get started. I love your personal assistance idea - maybe I'll show up at your door! What country are you in?

Hi Daphyne - I do have the other channel but it's not called It's All Primary in the Classroom. Though, after reading your comment, I might change it. That channel has mainly unlisted videos for my families. Let me see if I have time this next month to freshen it up a bit.
I’m thinking to start a TPT store. But I wanted to ask that now since most of the classes are back face to face, Do I create the normal worksheets or boom worksheets? Like will the boom worksheets still sell?
Hi, Congratulations! They are both selling. Check search results on TPT to see which one has smaller results, and make some of those first. For example, if you want to create worksheets on dividing fractions, for grade 5, look to see how many products already exist on TPT for dividing fractions. Start with worksheets and then Boom Cards. I would think there will be less Boom Cards.
I have made my first product. It took me many weeks because I’m a perfectionist. Now I feel a little discouraged because I know I have to promote it. I’m using Pinterest but I haven’t seen results yet. I know it’s early days. I’d like to learn more about Pinterest but feels difficult to learn 😢
Congratulations on making your first product. When being a perfectionist, it's more important to "have the product done, not perfect". Pinterest is a long game but I find it better than social media. How many pins are you pinning each day?
