The solos for this minimix were recorded during a live DJ set I did in 1983 or 1984. This was at a party for Radio Veronica. Peter Schön was the keyboard player and had heared Moments In Love never before until he was playing these solos live before an audience.
He would quickly check key and exact tuning on a headphone and then performed on the fly.
#NerdFact The set was recorded on the Sony F1 digital system, with Peter's performance being recorded on the Hi-Fi channels of the Betamax-Hi-Fi recorder. The next week I built the parts with additional sequences into this minimix. - เพลง

Boy I remember this one from the 80's, had it on a cassette tape. I must honestly say, this version is so much richer in structure than the original. This was a wonderfull job!

it was 1986 and the discoteque "titanic" in Madrid every saturday night dj, played this versión and i asked me ¿ how is possible so good sound ? the answer was Ben Liebrand. I forgot because a friend of mine works at disco as security man and recorded me . Delicatessen for our ears!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot!!!!!.

Ben Liebrand is the Remix king of the Netherlands, he invented it! In the past, on every Thursday night, during the great Ferry Maat's Soul a minimix from Ben was played. (actually he made many manual cuts on a tape to remix the songs). Ben's choice of music during these performances was great and still is. Thank you Ben.
Little Beats Amsterdam minimixes were never played in Ferry maat’s Soulshow on thursday night but in friday nights Curry and van Inkel. Also Ben made 1 hour “ in the mix” friday nights from 02:00 till 03:00 at Veronica radio early 80’s.
ah yes Jan, you are totally right, thanks for reminding me! Now I remember I stayed up very late on Friday's to listen at Ben's "in the mix" and recorded them all on my tapedeck :-) Anyway, I think the Ferry maat's Soulshow also had great music, mostly white labels from the US. I think Ben was also a big fan of it.
And the grandmaster mixes he made at the end of each year (Stenders en Van Inkel). I was just a kid back then but my bigger brother was a resident DJ in a club and a DJ at a local station in our town...

This was the version we used for more than 4 years in a major club in Madrid, we used to start the session, without a doubt the best version of "Moments in love"
The solos were simply spectacular to hear, we took advantage of the finger fluffs to lower the light little by little

Fun fact 2: Peter had never heard the track before in his life.
Fun fact 3: Whilst he was doing his solo I told him there was a 4 beat 'stop' coming up soon, which I counted down with my hand in his view. After which he perfectly continued, without having a clue what was coming after the 4 finger-snap-stop.
Fun fact 4: tuning to the right pitch was done on the fly, as well as switching the sounds he used.
