Peg, you are right about the 24v wiring thing. Batteries put out a limited amount of wattage which is amps times voltage. If you take 24 volts, you half the amperage. But if you wire 2 12 volt batteries and wire them in parallel, you get twice the amperage and same amount of volts. Electricity can be kinda cool if you know about it and how it works

ive been aligning with pegs method for 15+ years and it works just fine. however! if your junk is tired and has wear do this, you can compensate for worn parts. keep the tires on and weight on the ground. roll up on level surface. put a piece of tape on the tire at the front where you can get a measuring tape use a pen and make a mark and note the distance. then roll forward and try to get the rear measure as near 180deg then adjust the tie rods to get 1/8 inch toe in. ive nailed it plenty good enough that most of the time it dont need adjustment on the alignment machine. this wont count for caster or camber but thats another comment.
growing up my grandmother had a 1996 pathfinder which i drove back and forth to my first on paper job which was at a paving company one of the truck drivers had a 1998 pathfinder stuck off behind his shop i got for 200 had it running the same night thing cleaned up great then someone had some liquid encouragement and it got blow up on a logging trail

I run 24 volt all the time to them old gas V8's that have compression in 4 cylinders due to stuck valves or stuck or no rings that way it spins so fast it don't need all 8 to light off. It's always good to have snow or a big bottle of water to pour on the starter to cool it off when it's been cranking for a few minutes
You need a dt360 international engine to put in one of your trucks. Stellar engine but I can’t find enough info on doing the swap into one of my trucks. Got a 95 f250 and a 2012 f250. Both are regular cab long bed 4 wheel drive gassers. They need that engine

this is way better method of home alignment than what I did trying to measure off the tire treads
I use a laser measure to set the toe on my old ferd. It is very fast and highly inaccurate.
