    Bro you NEED to start charging these peeps for damaging your equipment. Your current business model is NOT sustainable with people busting up your money makers. You work hard and have nice stuff, others just don't care and they will understand that you won't charge them for damage and it will keep getting worse.

      Yessir. You are right...I just feel bad for them when damages happen accidentally and stuff. But at the same time, if it's not my accident I shouldn't be the one paying for the repair bill.

    GoPro is a great addition to the channel. Video quality is greatly improved. I like how you keep it OG with the phone!
    Remember, if you rent a car and bring it back damaged, they charge you. If you rent a truck and bring it back damaged, they charge you! I get that they may be friends or family or someone you want tk help out, but if you're clear and consistent, and they are truly your friends, thrn they will understand and pay for damages. Otherwise, you dont want them in your sphere because they are taking advantage of you anyway!
    The more you let slide the worst it will get and the harder it will be to reverse course!
    Keep hustling my dude!

    @ about the 10:00 minute mark, saw your E-brake cable through one of the holes in your hitch... That could be a problem imo... If the trailer came off for one reason or another while driving, your e-brake cable might rip apart not pull the pin out to engage trailer brakes... I always run cable from A to B... If cable is too long like one of my trailers, I run it through the hitch and hook back to the e-cable itself... Good luck

    you may need to adjust your trailer brake strength depending on if the trailer is loaded or empty, i've had trailers that will skid the front tires if they are empty and the trail brake is turned up. Makes me think thats what it could be if it happened to both sides.

    14 & 16 ply tires for our industry are a must! I haven't had to change out tires yet in over 2 years.

    Haven’t watch the whole video yet so you may mention it or something like it but I’d recommend getting a head mount for the go pro and not just the chest mount. That way if you’re looking at someone to the side of something, and talking to them, we can see them and we’re just looking straight on. Also, I would say it’s easier to see what you’re doing with your hands a lot of the time. Either mount is great though. Love the content!

    Hey Andre. I work in the equipment rental business. Couple of things I would like to suggest.
    1. Charge for delivery. Create a radius from your place. Example: $25 up to 15 miles, $35 15-30, $50 30- 40….etc. Have to charge for your time, gas, wear and tear on your truck. You can offer that they can come pick it up if they don’t want to pay for delivery. Even the pizza place charges for delivery!
    2. Charge for damages, and markup your parts. Be competitive on your shop rate and maybe only markup your parts only 10%.
    3. Take pictures. When you are sending the customer pictures of the delivery, send them 4. All four sides. Same for equipment. When you pick up, IF there are damages, take pictures! Send to the customer with a note saying: Will assess the damage and send the our invoice when repairs complete. Our shop rate is: $0.00 per hour.
    4. Add the dumping fee on your invoice. Not if you get charged a flat rate for junk or is it by weight? Either way, whatever you are charged, pass that along. You can even take a picture of the receipt. I didn’t hear you say it, so you might be doing it already.
    5. I know one of the tires was your fault, but you absolutely need to charge for tires. If there’s a flat then you just charge the cost to repair the flat. Tire can’t be fixed, charge a percentage of the new tire, especially if it had already been patched, was pretty old and only half tread left. If it was new..sorry Mr. Customer, full price.
    6. Create a quick “sell sheet” for your business. Something that you can show what you do and on the bottom you can put your delivery rates, shop rate per hour, list of things you rent. If you are sending customers quotes make sure you have your delivery rate in there and a footnote what the shop rate is for damages and parts are extra.
    Rentals can be a good business. Don’t nickel and dime your customers, which you already know. But also don’t let your kindness cost you money, it should make you money. Keep at it Andre, you’re ambitious and hard working.

    • @seen48
      @seen48 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@JeremyLuebke tires are always a sticky situation but charging for flat repairs was quite easy and never had a customer challenge it. I compare it to a rental car. If you get a flat they want you to pay for it. It’s not mandatory for sure, just one of those things that adds up over time. I get it for sure. Somethings are not easy to charge for and building relationships absolutely have to do what’s good for the long haul. Case by case.

    • @seen48
      @seen48 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@JackofHaulTrades my pleasure. I enjoyed your video but didn’t enjoy how stressed the rentals made it, which is understandable. When I first started in equipment rentals in 2006 I had zero clue what most of the tools and equipment were, how they operated etc. Took me a long time to gain the confidence to ask customers to pay for things, a long time. One thing I forgot to mention was call your competitors and ask for quote to rent something. Ask local, farther away etc and see what they charge. At the end of the day you want to build a loyal customer base, one that calls you without asking what the price is. So going back to the tires, sure to build rapport and trust you will have to not charge for some things. Totally the right thing to do. But never do a favour for a customer and not tell them you did. If they send something back that you had to fix and didn’t charge them, make a follow up call ask them how everything was, service etc and gently say, oh by the way the rear tail light was all mangled but we got it all straightened out at the shop. Something along those lines. Keep at it. 👊
