Nice to see that Richard Garfield is still making games. Clearly the inventor of MTG doesn"t need to work another day in his life, his pot off gold is filled to the brick, but for the love of games he keeps doing it. That is great.
Looks like a fun game. I also really want that dice tower...

Also, the way the two-player version works on BSW is that you not only have to hold against the warrant for two turns in a row, but you do NOT leave your dice/swords there after your first "win." You take everything away and must roll all dice again. Meaning: to get your second hold in a row, you may have better or worse swords for your opponent to beat... including zero swords, if you want.
I picked this up a few months back on a whim because a local shop owner knows I love press your luck games with dice. I’ve played it quite a bit at 2p as well as 3 and 4.
It's got loads of dice... press your luck... and really cool art, what a super little game! And of course you guys made it shine in yet another fantastic video, but that's nothing new so I'm not gonna mention that, but all things considered, it looks like yet another game that just has to be bought if life is to go on.
Of your collection of dice games over the last few weeks, I have to say this one looks like the most enjoyable to me, so much so I'm going to use your support link. Great playthrough as always!

Ahhhhh, cool! This game showed up last year on BSW as Würfelhelden, where I played it a bunch. After BBG.Con, I'd heard people mentioning a game called Dice Hunters of Therion... and I would have never put those two together :)
Looks like a fun, extremely light-weight dice game. Love the push-your-luck element, but can't help feeling like it needs just one more element going on. But, on the plus side, it's a quick little game. But, just as an example, say you could also spend your money to buy dice out of your supply, or to buy certain single-use re-roll cards, etc. That might give it just a bit more meat to justify playing it multiple times. As it is, the choices are just a tiny bit TOO limited. Great for playing with kids though, I bet. Give me some advanced rules, though!

You all seemed to really enjoy it. Think Nik and Sarah would, so may need to look at getting. Love any game using dice as main mechanic.
Lincoln (unintentionally I'm sure) cheated! At 30:16 the red die is a value 2 and after futzing around with them at 30:26 it's a 3! He still ends up with more than Nikki so it didn't really matter. I'm getting this game. Basically Yahtzee with an added layer of push your luck. Looks like a blast!

Is there a tie breaker for first? Just wondering for if folks who wanted to break the 2nd & 3rd player tie.
So, I was wondering, why did you guys focus so hard on getting as many swords as possible in your rolls ? Isn't the goal technically to just beat the one who currently seems in place to capture by just one and roll coins on the rest of the dice ? And keep the rounds for bounty hunting take longer ?
You have to survive a whole round without others beating you, so if you rolled like 10 swords that's a lot harder to beat than 5 swords, but if you ended your turn with 5 swords and a coin that's basically a waste of a turn as someone can just beat you easily.

I let out an audible gasp when she rolled both dice as coins in her 14-coin turn!
I'm still confused about the rules. Once a warrant has been taken and the player rolls their dice, do they HAVE to keep any swords they rolled? Aaron makes Lincoln do it at the start, but then debates over wether he should keep his own swords after the second warrant. I'm so confused!
Yes you do have to keep those swords aside and can’t debate wether to keep them or to reroll them after you’ve won a warrant in your previous turn. You can however decide what to do with the ones that don’t come up as swords with your next two rolls though.

Clackity Clackity, that dice tower is more of a liability than anything.
One DIE, two or more DICE.
So if you are beaten you can use any dice you gained on the same turn? And get coins as well? Seem you did play it wrong there.
You got the dice last turn as you rolled
@@ykl1277 That was not how they plaid it at the start. They got it wrong, added swords to the fight and took their coin and new dice, then got another turn when beaten,.
@@57thorns They played this game correctly. When you roll you decide which ones you want to keep and which you want to reroll unless it's the start of the game and you're rolling to see who has the most amount of swords among the 3 dice. In a 3p game lets say player 1 has the most amount of swords at the start of the game. Player 2 rolls their dice all 3 times setting aside a die that has 1 yellow, a coin, and a sword but isn't enough to beat the 1st player. Third player rolls and beats 1st player after all 3 rolls. Player 1 and 2 now have to beat player 3 with player 1 having just the 3 dice they started with and player 2 having the 3 starting dice as well as a yellow.
Looks like a fun little game. Nothing to do with Therion, one of my favorite heavy metal bands. Haha.
