HOLY FUNK! You see these super high level guys and cant help but feel inspired.Cant imagine the amoumt of man hours that went into JUST funk playing..Respect Mr.Oz. Thanks as always marty :)
I could do every bit of that. I just simply choose not to because...you know... there's already this guy doing it. But no seriously this guy was awesome he really had a simplistic way of showing off. Really makes you feel as if you could just quit watching the video, pick it up and start doing the same. Couldn't be further from the truth with my skill level. But what I did get out of it, was several neat little tricks and for that I am grateful. With all those chaotic changes it felt as if he was playing lead with chords. Loved it! motherfunkin guitar goodness
Holy Smoke...Marty nice, very nice in fact...Oz Noy is a master and that funk lesson is proof that he is a Master of funk and the Guitar, It's very clear. A favorite player for me...I listen to everything he does...try it you can't be disappointed !!
Oz, great approach for attempting to teach funk. Believe me, I'm not down playing what you showed us,but you've got to be able to feel funk to play it effectively. You definitely have a great feel for it as well technical proficiency.
Hey, thanks for all your videos I've learned a lot from you over the years. I am interested in making some videos of my buddy and I covering some songs. I am wondering how in the world I go about doing that? So I am wondering what kind of gear like video cameras, audio devices, and software you use to get that great sound? Or maybe you could just refer me to a video like that? thanks so much!!
its very hard this ryhthem for i play lots of solos but in rythem im not that good maybe cause i dont practice il have a go but i dont like chords to be honest but im a guitarist and i have to play everything rightn so thankx
Two guitarists may never shake hands or they're forced to immediately fight for the right to keep whichever hand they shook, out of respect for the shredders code.
July17 No, they are not the same, a seventh chord is made of a major triad and a minor seventh, while a ninth chord is made of a seventh chord and a ninth (which in the case of E is F#).
They pretty much have the same harmonic function, as in you can substitute an E9 for an E7 in pretty much all cases. An E7 triad is the notes E (root) G# (major third) D (minor seventh) and an E9 is all those notes plus F# (ninth)
@@Utube-s8m He clearly plays E9 01:30 his third finger is barring E, B and G strings at the 7th fret...this is E9 the famous funk chord. Then adds the #9.... E7#9.. the so called Hendrix chord. He plays it right but says E7 when he means E9.
HOLY FUNK!

"All you need to do is know where everything is and just go for it... In a kind of rhythmical way". Brilliant. Funky. And funny

why wouldn't he shake Marty's hand? that was weird. awkward moment
+timmerdonkey lol ikr
Wasn't he just pointing at his guitar with his hand?
germaphobe, nervous or doesn't like him

Why does he call E9 an E7 chord? Are they the same?
July17 No, they are not the same, a seventh chord is made of a major triad and a minor seventh, while a ninth chord is made of a seventh chord and a ninth (which in the case of E is F#).
oh ok thanks

The "famous" funk chord is the 9th not the 7th. Sounds like he plays E9 but says E7 in the vid.
It’s E7 and then he adds the E7 add9 Hendrix chord.

Yeah he just didn't say the extention, just called it an e7 but yes it's an e9 used in many funk songs
4:36

Great player but… 7:09
HAHAHA ! ! What happened with the handshake?! I hate when that happens...sort of awkward...
