    Hey Achim, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
    I benefit a lot from your videos and learned how to mod my gear and what to crucially avoid!
    You are great and your videos are amazing!
    greetings,

    Hi Achim, I now have a made to measure suit and undergarment after 100 dives in an off the shelf suit, the new suit is great and has made me realise that fitted is better I can now don and doff my finns with ease, and the frog kicking is also better as I can move better. thanks

    Thank you Achim. Great video and really helped me to get a better idea of what to look for in a drysuit.

    You're a great mentor. I'm currently working as a recreational diving instructor and I use an aqualung solafx, good for the summer and autumn (25 to 17 degrees) I am very skinny and I tend to freeze below 17 with whatever wetsuit I use and that is unacceptable if I want to stay professional. That's why I am thinking of a trilaminate. There's a local store making them tailored to fit your exact size for 1000 euros. They're called articdiving. The only thing I don't know if to pick socks or integrated boots. Vielen dank für deine vídeos un lg aus Barcelona

    Great video. It was really a fair share of practical approach, thanks for that.
    Personally I am using the DUI 350 trilam extreme and must confirm that shoelaces floating in the water was a big issue - the only way to avoid it was to switch to soft neoprene boots, which are cheaper and more versatile.
    Again, great video.

    Great Video, only just started diving and just got my open water diving certification. Living in the UK one of my main goals is to dive the Scapa flow. AOW next and the dry suit course as part of it, but a long way to go One of our instructors could also not recommend a personal fit dry suit enough.

      Hi Mark. Thanks!. Recoomening a brand is difficult these days - and I am looking around myself. I will post a follow up when I find something really great :) Maksure it is tight fit but you can move your legs and arms all the way (palms between your shoulders) Most suits are to far and fit lige garbage bags... That is wrong ;-)

    Zipper material notes would be great as well, people don't seem to be able to agree on that. Great video!

      I am an oldtimer here I always choose the metal ones. Seems that more and more manufactures move to the plastic ones but I hear 50/50 from the ones that use them - from "total crap" to "great". I used one last year and it started leaking right away - so I went back to metal - works and if you take care of it last as long as the suit.

      Hi, I have not much expirience with heatings - as whenever I used one it failed when I needed it - so I skipped the concept. Actually quality has improved and what I hear from friends and fellow divers Santi is the brand to go for.

    what about the Santi e-motion plus front zipper that goes from right shoulder to left hip. The inlet valve is also more to the left part of the body. What type of zipper grease is the best and cheapest for the long run. The plastic t zippers have been a drama for many fresh water divers, cause after 60 dives the zippers leak and people have to send the suit back to Poland and wait for 3-5 months. End of diving season 😢.

      @CoastalDevelopment  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have no bad expirience with Santi - great compan with great products - and as I said - I agree with the pastic zippers, I stick to the metal ones :)

      Hi there I have used WATERPROOF D9 dry suit for two years never less than 40 dives per year I would never buy that again BIG MISTAKE should have listen friends SANTI or ROFOS are the best quality and suit made by measure stay away from off the peg ready at the diving shop all TOYS useless gear from poor qualified dive stores .

    What is your experience with socks, instead of integrated boots? It seams you can put the whole suit inside out for dry. Matched with regular neoprene/rubber boots, what are the pros and cons against integrated boots?

    So, using a membrane dry suit: should one use bcd or suit for buoyancy control?

    • @stevecookson3201
      @stevecookson3201 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Use bcd for bouyancy and air in suit to only eliminate suit squeeze. My personal opinion this way you are only controlling buoyancy in one device.

    what are your thoughts on the White's Fusion drysuit for technical diving?

    • @CoastalDevelopment

      Hi Ben, I have no personal expirience with White fusion so I cant say anything about it - sorry.

    • @thehawkmanunknown
      @thehawkmanunknown 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you are stuck for a suit its ok. The Fusion drysuit is a garbage bag with spandex outer shell to keep it close to your body. Its a good suit, I find it constricts my chest personally. I have been diving in British Columbia with a White's Fusion drysuit for 5 years.

      I've been diving a front zip Whites Fusion which is now Aqua Lung dry suit for about 4 years with some tea diving. While the suit is very basic it's a great starter dry suit. They are reasonably priced come with replaceable seal system Kevlar reinforced wearable areas like knees and forearms and most importantly has a very manageable bubble. As my suit is getting older and has many dives on it. I'm looking to replace it with the Santi E-lite. I should also mention I'm not a big fan of the rock boots.

    My hood stinks like something died in there after 2 months. I put it in the washing machine or do a hand laundry thing. Its difficult to do when attached to a suit.

      Hi, I have no personal expirience with it - meaning I never dove one, but the ones I saw were all not fitting well (which does not have to be a mistake of the company but most likeley from the seller or the customer :-)
