As a Navy Desert Storm vet, thank you for what you are about to do. I am also in a position to start giving back and have found that doing so is a road to a lot of happiness. It's not all about money either, sometimes just listening or trying to pass on good, experienced based advice can be just as good or better than money. Keep going and good luck.

Your military license can transfer into cdl, BUT it has to be within a year of getting out. Also GI bill works for trucking school.
Only if your military license was for a “CDL truck”
