Ever since I saw Aram Badrosian play his Ritter I was star struck. I actually am from Germany and live like 5 hours away from Jens Ritters factory. If I ever end up making enough money to afford one of his instruments, I'll surely order one. As far as I'm concerned, Jens Ritter is the Stradivari of the electric bass guitar.
My god, that's gorgeous. Sounds amazing with finger style. Like no other bass. The slap tone is very transparent, though. Finger style sounds so rich and wonderful.
@@ishguitars How much was it? Most expensive? I always thought a highly customized Alembic with tons of inlay work would be at the top of the list. Ritter are very wild, and ya just have to love them. I never knew how much they cost, I know they aren't cheap.
$15,000 for this bass? Holy Crap! My $400 Jack "O" Bacher Jackson bass sounds every bit as good... as an art piece (which is the only way to view it) I suppose it has it's place... 100 years from now it might be in a collection... 500 years it might be broken and tossed away or in a museum... who knows?
Awesome bass… now you just need to find a bass player to test it a record a vid so we can hear how it sounds,.. and btw, not just using the external microphone in a iPhone or so
Love how Jens Ritter goes all out - BUT How can he use that type of foam in that case?! It will chemically eat into the finish over time. For a five figure bass, it ought to have non-harmful material in contact with the finish!
@@whatskraken3886 Jens just may not have had any instruments in these type of cases long enough to find out. I've had experience with this foam in road cases. It is okay for a couple of years but long term it does indeed eat into nitro and poly finishes. Destroyed the finish on a my 1980 Pedulla Bass. Have see other instruments with this foam embedded in the finish. Five figure instrument - don't take chances- Upholster the case.
Taking this thing to a gig would be a nightmare.I dont think I could enjoy the gig ,worrying about knocking this bass against something. No,give me a good ol' J-bass anytime. This looks too delicate and Fancy Nancy. You would worry about snapping something off! Sounds about average too.

I agree!! You should go visit him anyway, the town is beautiful.
Jens Ritter is a genius! I really really need one of his basses in my life!
I'm not surprised it sounds as good as it looks. Rolls Royce of basses!
Jens Ritter once told me a story about how one of his good customers was deciding whether he should get a new Rolls Royce or a new Ritter 😂
That is one beautiful work of art.....sounds pretty darn good too.
Come play it!
@@ishguitars You know I'll be down to take a look at that !
always been fascinated with the ritter basses. Nice to see a video about it!
Yeah me too, they’re like a cross between an instrument and a work of art really. Only thing is they are so darn expensive
So Ritter actually make plywood basses. Amazing.
I’m a guitar player, but I have to stop my Sss a little just to see this video man! Nice bass! Nice craftsmanship! Welll done bro
That is an amazing looking bass. Have to try one some day. Wow!
Looks like something Prince would own and play!
Prince did own some Ritters so that is accurate!
Very cool!

Yeah slap is kinda mid scoopy, but this was also running the amp totally flag. Agreed finger is pretty much magic! (That's what she said)
Haha good one, Ish !!!
Thats the Most expensive Plywood Bass Ive Ever seen
If there was a world record for most expensive plywood bass this would definitely win 😂

@@Oneness100 $15,000 USD
@@ishguitars that's not bad for what it is. Handcrafted instruments have skyrocketed over the years.
@@Oneness100 I don't think it's that bad either considering he has a bass in the Smithsonian!
I don't even own this and I've already broken it.
The Princess Isabella is about the most beautiful bass I've ever seen. But yes how could you take it out in a club?
Great color & Sounds Great, but looks stupid. how much does it cost?
$15,000 but already sold!
Cool bass..I'd never put a snark on it. Thanks!
Ritter sus bajos y guitarras son la unión de Stradivarius con Picasso

You don’t dare take it into a club!
"Don't drop it"
...first thing on my check list was to break it but I'm glad you reminded me not to
A nice Shape for an freetless
What us the brand ?!
Jens Ritter Instruments!
Kinda just looks like an overly exaggerated version of Claypool's Pachyderm

What a bass! $10,000 I'm guessing
Sold for $14,999.00
Multiply by 1923...😳
Der Klang und die Verarbeitung mag ja Top sein. Aber schön ist anders.
It sounds great. It’s ugly as hell but it sounds great.
Bass looks like Shrek
😂😂 Ogres are like onions, they have layers
Sounds flat to me ... only good for slap bass ..... No depth like a Jazz or master bass
We were running the amp and preamp flat so that makes sense 😉
That is without doubt the ugliest bass I have ever wasted 8 minutes on.
So basically it's like a train wreck - ugly but you can't look away?
What a horrible looking bass
