It was incredible, I can still recall that landscape in my mind. About the landing, I use a Tip my instructor gave me years ago. I approach the shore with an acute angle ( almost parallel with the shore) and I point at the middle, if I'm short I land on the first half, if I'm overshooting I land on the second half. I would for sure do a lot of mistakes with a shoe perpendicular approach. I hope I explained it clearly
