  • Lake Colorado City State Park is a decent sized Texas state park in the north west region of Texas. Lake Colorado City State Park is built on the southside of Lake Colorado City and is several miles south of Lake Colorado City.
Honestly it's a bit of a tongue twister to say that name over and over.
This State park is a park that has seen some better days, but due to a decrease in requirements for the water at Lake Colorado City the State Park has greatly diminished it's amount of visitors each year.
I often hear people asking where they could get last minute weekend reservations in Texas for camping and I now think of Lake Colorado City State Park. I'm pretty sure there is always a few campsites available here.

My apologies, I noticed a few mistakes in the video after it was published. Kaylyn had some criticism for my proofing procedures. She might get herself a job if she isn't careful.

Great videos. Thank you for making me fall in love in the state parks here in Texas. We have an RV and we always RV beyond Texas. That will change next year. We camp in Pedernales Falls State Park last weekend and it was breathtaking.

It's basically the same situation as choke canyon state park. The water levels have been going down over the years and people slowly stopped going. I still haven't been to this one, it looks like a great park to me. I experienced the same at Copper Breaks state park. I was the only person there. Hiked a couple trails, walked around the day use and lake, even took a shower. Nobody. All I saw was the park ranger. Great tour of the park, hope to camp here this coming fall

The positive is, it provides us with a potential last minute camping spot. The negative, if the money dries up the state might close the park. That's my fear. I hope you enjoy camping here in the fall.

Site 96... Noted. Thanks for that! I've noticed a trend at TX state parks where the truly primo spots are non-electric.

It might have to do with things like not wanting to run sewer and other utilities so close to the water. I've been noticing that trend all over the US. "You can park by the river with now sewer or across the street with full hook-ups."
