    Your review sold me. I just hiked 10 trail miles through mud and snow in my new Circadians today and they handled the slick mud so incredibly well. The footbed stayed dry and my foot never slid around inside the sandal. Leagues better than the Xero Ztreks I was previously slipping around in. Gonna try 20 miles next Sunday! Thanks for the great review

      If you're new to this type of sandal it may take some time for your feet to adjust. I regularly wear mine for 5-7 mile hikes with no issues. I would recommend wearing for short durations at first and slowly add time. Around town will likely be easier on your feet since the footing won't make the sandal shift as much. Hope this helps!

    Great video! Thank you. I just got a pair of Earth runners yesterday. I'm having a little bit of trouble with the comfort of the laces in the toes. I did go with the performance laces literally just based on the color options lol. Looking for something for every day in the khaki seems to be the fit. So glad you're enjoying the comfort of the sandals and with that giving me the encouragement to find comfort in it :-)

    • @DoctorBen

      I hope you like the sandals! If the performance laces don’t work out for you, you can always order a set of their lighter weight laces and just put those on your sandals. Happy walking!

    Thanks for the review. Does the grounding metal plug scratch wood floors? I would think it would as the outsole rubber around it wears away and the metal doesn’t. I’ve never own Earth Runners though so I’m familiar with the construction or how it wears down.

    • @DoctorBen
      @DoctorBen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven’t noticed that to be a problem. Copper is a pretty soft metal and I’ve noticed that on my pair it wears at a similar rate as the rubber.

      I barely even notice mine any more. I’ve had em almost 2 years now and they’re almost the only thing I wear until it starts getting into the low 30s. It may take some time and wear for them to get more flexible. Id also worn similar style sandals for quite a while before trying the earth runners.

  • @cacatr4495

    Last evening I learned that "Gaia" makes sandals very similar to these, with copper grounding in the same place, with silver-stitched webbing/lace design to ground the foot from the copper, with a different minimalist rubber outsole and a full grain leather insole, and a metal adjusting buckle instead of plastic. So the kind you're talking about are not the only sandals like them.

    Thanks for the review, do you find them more comfortables than Lunas? Ihave lunas and Im happy, the copper seems atractive for grounding, so why did you prefer these over the others?

    • @DoctorBen
      @DoctorBen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've owned several pairs of Lunas, including when all they sold were kits to make your own! I like Lunas. I several pairs of hemp tie your own sandals and one pair of the stretch lace system. The EarthRunners are comparable. I like the EarthRunner lacing setup better and I like that I can get them with something other than a rubber top for a good price. I didn't even realize the EarthRunners had copper wire for grounding until after I'd ordered my pair so it didn't factor into my decision. Hope that helps!

  • @walt0rb
    @walt0rb ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the clip have padding where it comes in contact with the foot? Or is hard plastic directly touching the foot?
    With other sandals I've tried, I've unfortunately always found hard plastic on skin leads to rubbing raw after enough miles. What might be fine for most normal use might really not be ok for a 20 mile trail run.

    • @DoctorBen
      @DoctorBen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not have padding but it is also mostly the strap that touches my foot. I haven’t done a 20 mile run but I’ve done some pretty demanding 10-13 mile hikes in the mountains and I’ve never had any issues.

    • @DoctorBen
      @DoctorBen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      These sandals are minimalist footwear. There is no arch support and it will not form into the sandal. If you’re used to arch support you will likely have to retrain your foot to support itself. There is an acclimation period to minimalist footwear.

    Hello doctor been how you doing. This was a great review you did on the sandals. I have not seen anybody wearing these sandals. I would like to pick me up a pair of these sandals because I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my little. They do not make a shoe , sock , or boot that's wide enough for my foot so I am 95% of the time barefooted 👣. It really sucks for me because I do not have a choice in Footwear. The only Footwear that barely and I mean barely fits on my foot is flip-flops. But they barely fit on my feet because my toes are wider than the flip flop straps. I do have a question? You mentioned on the sizing on the print out sheet do they make these sandals according to your print out sheet & do you sent it in. The problem that I have is my toes are straight like yours but mine's also are straight across which is making it very very extremely wide and when I put my flip-flops on both of my little toes are hanging off the footbed of the flip-flops because of my toes being very fat and wide and I am looking for a sandal that is wide enough to keep all of my toes on the foot bed. I like these sandals because it does not have the straps on the front of the sandals like flip-flops do so it should be easy for me to slide my foot into the sandals. That is awesome to hear that these sandals are the only Footwear you wear until it gets extremely cold. It sucks for me because unfortunately when it gets extremely cold I do not have that option I am still wearing flip-flops or either barefooted 👣 in 20 and 30 degree temperatures. I was born with very wide feet , I grew up playing around barefooted 👣 or wearing flip flops but I never thought my foot would outgrow tennis shoes and socks and I would have to live my life as a barefooted 👣 person. There are some days where I cannot even put my flip-flops On My Feet and I have to go Barefooted 👣 for the day. But I am thankful I have a job that allow me to be barefooted 👣 or wear flip-flops when I am suppose to be wearing steel toe shoes. It really really sucks having a very very extremely wide foot with very fat wide toes. I apologize for this being so long but I really appreciate it if you could let me know about these sandals they look awesome and I really would like to get a pair to make my life a lot easier for me. I love my flip-flops I've been wearing them for 33 years but it's getting difficult to put them on since my foot outgrew Tennis Shoes 33 years ago. Again I apologize for being so long. Thank you and Take it easy.👍👍👍👍👍

    • @DoctorBen
      @DoctorBen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries about the long question! The print out is there sizing so you can compare the shoes to your feet before buying. There are a few options... they make the sandals once you place your order. You could reach out to them and see if they could do a special order pair for you. The other option would be something like Russell moccasins. They are a made to order shoe company. They do boots and shoes and build a shoe for you based on your specific measurements and needs. I had them make a pair of boots for me years ago before barefoot boots were available. Hope that helps!

    • @mackjenkins7721
      @mackjenkins7721 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DoctorBen oh thank you I appreciate that. Russell Moccasins never heard of them before I'm going to have to check them out. That would be awesome if they can make me a pair of shoes & boots that will fit for me to wear in the winter time. I got adjusted to wearing flip-flops to the store in 20 degree weather it's just I need a boot or shoe to wear when I'm outside in 20 degree weather working. Never thought that having a very extremely wide foot for caused so much problems for Footwear. I have 5 son that have wide feet too & only my third son have a extremely wide foot like me with all of his toes equally straight across like Mine. ( father like son ) but he does not have fat wide toes like I do which is a good thing but his foot already outgrew sock which is not a good thing for a 12 year-old kid with a foot that is sz13 EEE wide with toes that are equally straight across. He hasn't outgrown shoes yet he just only outgrown socks like I did. Me and him can only get four toes in a sock now. Thank you for the information sir I might have to use this with my family 4 Footwear.
