    I totally want to use this pattern too but to make an actual jacket and not a costume. Ill probably hem the train a little and split the skirt to add pockets as it's like a more punk princess jacket in a way and i love that

      That's such a fantastic idea! It's both totally punk and awesome. Cruella would love that.

      I did the pocket step in mine to! It works well. Just don't put them in facing backwards the first time like I did. 🤣

    Hi! Thank you for this video. I am attempting the same dress for halloween so this is really helpful as I do not have much sewing experience. Wish me luck!

    Hi, great video, your coat looks amazing. I’m thinking of making this in a light to mid weight velvet, unlined as a ritual robe. How do you think it might go unlined? I’m thinking either French seams or maybe honking it flat felled seams. Appreciate any input. Have a great week 😁🌸🌸

      Hi! Thank you so much! I think you'd absolutely be able to do this coat in a light velvet unlined. French seams can be challenging with velvet because it can be a bit bulky. I'd recommend a serger if you have one or a zig zag stitch. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Can you please help me with the fabric? How much of the dalmation fabric did you use? Either in yards or meters?
    Would be glad for your support!
    Greetings from Germany! :-)

    I'm making this for my daughter this year for Halloween. Do you remember how wide your fabric was? 9 yards seems ridiculous at 60" wide; I'm making the size 6.

      I thought so too, but I also MASSIVELY over purchased because I was in a rush and didn’t fully realize it. My fabric was 108” wide or something ridiculous. So I still have left over fabric from this project. The skirt does have a lot of fabric.

      It really was so helpful! Gave me the confidence to get through it. I am a first timer, so if anyone new to sewing is watching this and wants to try too, you can do it! Took me more than four days not knowing what I was doing and learning each step, just give yourself time. I used the cheapest cotton fabric and lining I could find and it turned out great.

    Did you use the twill fabric recommended? Im doubting between a cotton twill, gabardine twill (poly with cotton) and even skai leather wich will be very heavy. Any advice?

    • @tilliboomcosplay
      @tilliboomcosplay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I did not. I honestly didn’t want to spend that much on the fabric and didn’t mind not being super accurate. I ended up using an extra wide quilt cotton that was 108” wide. It helped to keep it really light and more economical.

      Hi there! Sorry my video wasn’t helpful in the skirt construction. That’s great to know and I’m happy to try and help. It’s a really big pattern and hard to visualize. What step are you on?
