I agreed with you brother!!!! Back in the earlier days (80s), we used to listen to Sothy..... He is a really good singer. Not to tarnish current Khmer stars, but I haven't yet to see anyone can sing as good as Sothy, not even Preap S.
This is Great stuff from Sothy. I remember listening to these songs in the late 80's. This man deserves royalty from those karaoke company taking his songs especially Rasmey Hangmeas who is known for copying. Nowadays, there is nobody who can make songs like these.
From what I can find. He only made a handful of songs. Classics in my opinion because they were mostly original and he made it his style. His singing and screaming felt so real and not pop inspired like so much of today's Khmer music. This guy could of been a superstar if he made more music.
