      Andrew Neeme I feel your pain! Woke up to your vlog felt inspired so I hopped on WSOP online for some 1/2 was up a few bucks but then lost it all. On the button with j 10 off suit. It folded round to me I bet 4 BB and sb folded bb called. Flop came out 10 2 7 he checked I went 1/2 pot he called out came a 6 he went 3/4 pot I shoved all in he called he had pocket 8s and of course the last card had to be an 8 to wipe out my bankroll!!! 😤

Need to get you hooked up with the buddy here in Dallas area that had Johnny come out. Sounds like it was a pretty fun time there and I am sure you could fill it up just the same. (6 tables)

    Sucks to hear about your tilt-ish time, but.... This vid title was exactly what I needed to see today. I had a killer personal best of all time November ( 24 winning sessions out of 26) & went into Dec thinking I'd "fixed" my discipline problems. Then tilted off $1650 this past Friday in Minneapolis. Just a stupid amount when the state law has a max of $2-$100 spread limit at $300 max buy in.. ( Yeah, that's me going right back in 5 times w/o a table change from 8pm Friday night till 2pm Saturday afternoon )
    That's the thing with subbing & watching you and Brad - You know the content is gonna be fun, informative, and relatable ( often both the good and bad). It's appreciated man 👍

    Props for
    1) recognizing a bit of tilt, but not overreacting,
    2) still taking active lines and finding decent spots to apply pressure.
    Given some of the folds we saw, safe to assume just calling would be giving up a hefty chunk of EV...

    Hands villain can have:
    A6 3
    57 4
    A4s 2
    34s 2
    45s 2
    flush draws(KXs 3, JXs 2, QXs 2, 10Xs 1)
    All in really builds the pressure to him as you are quite good to block many hands with straight draws, only face a really bad situation with a bigger flush draw.
    All in and folding are both good options. Calling will put you into a really embarrassing situation as the SPR is low and you have a bad position. All in can sometimes fold the stronger flush draws and A6.

  • @Pyrotekniq
    @Pyrotekniq 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @Andrew Neeme
    1)
    Did you consider jamming 75dd on the K river?
    Probably one of the best bluffs to put into an overbet / large size to fold out 1P hands
    2)
    The 86ss on J425 hand
    I think a smaller sizing is better here - then jam the river
    Like 200$ turn, slight overbet river
    Because we have a bunch of hands that want to get protection,deny equity on the turn / check back river (e.g 66 vs his give ups like 2 over cards to the 6, force them to fold their equity) - so I think we prefer to merge / small on turn then polarize river (and this hand def makes it in as a river jam)
    3)
    85ss
    Let er rip

    hey andrew, vegas local watch all the vlogs. 13:27 I would say 86s is too loose vs a typical squeezing range in this spot. On the turn if you can deduce that your opponent is very capped and doesn't have an overpair or bigger draw then the overbet makes a lot of sense as he will overfold a ton. Keep at it, you help inspire me to play live more :D

    Last night I called $15 w 89spades. 3 ways to flop. I flopped open str flush draw. Flop comes 710spades and 4. Call $35 on flop 3 ways. Called down on turn to river for $200. Never hit. Couldn’t let it go. Those straight flush draws are costly. Winner flopped 2 pair and improved to boat w another 7.

    My 2 cents on the 85s situation.
    Preflop considerations: people often flat SB with hands such as 44s-88s, 56s- 89s,A2-A4s, A6-A9s, maybe even some suited Kings like K4s-K9s and some weaker suited broadways such as JT, KT, QT.
    Flop: 6-4-4. For value we have A4s, 66s, overpairs, flushdraws. Maybe 45s and K4s sometimes.... little bit loose from early Mp though.
    Paired board 2 tone you should be c-betting almost range so that’s fine. Sizing is okay, should be 1/3 pot or less but that’s fine. Raise is telling coming from SB, considering that he will check his whole range on the flop he has a lot of strong hands here. With what I put him on preflop his value is the following: 66, 44, A4s, K4s, Broadway flush draws with 2 overs, Some Ax Spades.
    He’s also probably raising 77-88 for protection as well.
    His only real bluffs would be something like a 75c that flatted pre. Not many if any at all.
    Your in position facing a 4.2x raise, we want to continue hands that have a lot equity versus his value. 85s has an equity edge over almost nothing he is raising here. For instance, you have 31% equity versus JTs, which is one of his weakest raises for value here. Not to mention You are drawing dead a portion of the time, I think this a clear fold and a good reason why we usually fold these hands before the CO.
    Hands to continue here in your range include Ax spades, 66, Broadway draws, A4s, and our overpairs. And also any 4x hand, 45s or K4s maybe. Loose, but not crazy loose opens you could have here. Being IP to raiser on flop, really no reason to have a 3bet range here. If we have the nuts he will barrel every 4x into us, if we have draws taking a turn IP is ideal, and if we have a 4x we are just way ahead.
    Solution: fold 85s, call everything that wants to continue, and take advantage of position.
    Gl out there Andrew, we all make silly plays occasionally, takes balls to put it or there on the internet lol. Hope to see you in Pennsylvania some time for one if your meet up games.

      Joh Bra This is live poker and Neeme said the guy was pretty loose-aggressive. With that in mind, I 100% agree with jamming.
      If this was some online mid-stakes reg, then yes I can agree with folding

    • @jaywill6805
      @jaywill6805 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nintendokings thanks for the input, But don’t you agree if the player is loose and aggressive if we are in position why jam and fold out his bluffs. At that point we are completely giving away positional advantage, And a player like that is very unlikely To have any hand folding to a jam.
      So if we assume zero fold equity, When he has a value, Shoving all in Any of our hands makes no since we should be really balanced here with a variety of 4x draws and the nuts. I will say I do play Almost all of my volume online, there are somethings I will not fully understand. In general though if we want to have flush draws in our continuation Range facing his bet sizing I think Ax Plus straws and Broadway draws are much better choices to continue with here. Let me know what you think, I enjoy talking poker don’t really care too much about being right.

    • @nintendokings
      @nintendokings 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joh Bra Why are you talking about positional advantage and keeping his bluffs in? We have 8-high atm, we fold or jam, position in future streets is irrelevant. And so is keeping his bluff in there, coz WE are the one with 8-high. We want him to fold any sort of ‘bluffs’ he has there and then, like AX flush draw, because everything beats us. And any sort of 77 or 88 type hand he’s getting feisty with. That’s why you jam here

    • @jaywill6805
      @jaywill6805 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nintendokings Yeah I usually play my range not my hand To determine which hands in my range I should continue with etc. we have so many better flush Draws here. Outside of specially 77, 88 We are not getting good odds. Against Any better. We have literally 8 High, my point is just like why Shove 8 high with zero fold equity. Also have literally less than 30 percent versus his raising range.
      If you wanna ship it with bad odds go ahead, but Can you agree this is the worst flush draw Andrew has here. If his draws are J10s plus they are all better calls here. Calling this hand is bleeding money; Definitely a really common mistake in my opinion... i’ve won many pots with A high because of people jamming things like this.
      If you think it’s a winning play by all means shove. put villains range into Equilab and check your odds

    • @jaywill6805
      @jaywill6805 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nintendokings if you think he folds the nut flush draw after raising to 500 on the flop for literally 700 more was it that’s just incorrect. He has more than direct odds to call off

  • @hymnofashes
    @hymnofashes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think I can help you Andrew; I have a little trick that's been working well for me. If you only open big suited aces, good pairs, and suited Broadway, your vpip is like 8 or 9. This open range is pretty easy to play against; they know what boards are bad for them and you're often forced to turn middle pairs into bluffs. You have board coverage concerns. Lots of textures where you have no good draws. But if you opened every connector, every small pair, every suited ace, and every suited gapper then you have a 20 vpip and that is easily exploited by the 8% tag who just 3 bets a lot, or even goes into check call and just lets you hang yourself with your numerous backdoors. So we make the decision about what subset of this class of hands to open based on emotion, which means we open them more on tilt. And opponents can sense tilt. My method is, before the session, I pick two suits, say clubs and diamonds. I auto muck all one gappers not of the first suit, and muck direct connectors less than 9ts that are not of the two suits. I only play same-color small pairs. And cut out the suited aces that don't have the wheel. So if you do this or something similar,( yeah you could favor a9s over a2s,) then your vpip is closer to 14 which is what the nose bleed online vpips look like. Point is: you need an OBJECTIVE way to choose partials so that you don't expose yourself to playing the most complicated part of the bottom of your range when you're in the worst frame of mind. When you're on tilt you don't have access to your a game, you only have your. C game. And "open this gapper only if it's diamonds" is something you can still obey on your c game. Simple rule.

    For the 58s hand, he is either raising with an overpair or a flush draw. What else is he doing it with? So I lean towards a call, then you can get away from the hand if a 6 comes or if a spade comes and he leads or it goes c/r

    With that 8s5s hand the reverse implied odds are pretty nasty, as are the direct pot odds. You block literally all the villians semi-bluffs. Because of this, I would expect the villain's SB range to have a lot of 4x combos. and middling pocket pairs balanced with the occasional 78s, 57s or better flush draw. To put it mildly, you are dominated... easy fold.

    • @Samdeman90

    I like the general idea of sizing your bluffs to look like value bets and your value bets to look like bluffs. More so against the tougher line-ups though. In most cases vs. the older rec if you want folds you need muscle, and if you want calls, well.. Don't level yourself.

    16:00 - that's a easy-snap-fold bro, and I'll tell you why: (I've paused the video, so I don't know the results yet.)
    1.) The "active-player" (who raised you post-flop) will usually have a hand that leaves you with VERY little equity: He will have some A4's/45's (trips) which IS very possible with only the single-bet pre-flop, and WORSE YET, he could have a higher flush draw. (In those scenario's, you'll have 30% or 35% equity.)
    2.) There are LITERALLY NO HANDS he should raise with, with validity, that you WANT HIM TO HAVE. So, now we're hoping he is stone-range-bluffing, as the range of the flop SHOULD be better for him. (Ironically, even if he has the worst hand he'll have here, say J/10 of hearts, he STILL HAS more/same equity that YOU do when he has one of his two valid raising hands! Lol!)
    3.) So, knowing this, why get involved in a BIG POT, that is heads-up (i.e. poor equity) and in which you're a 2-1 dog? Again, unless it's a miracle and your opponent has EXACTLY the 2/3 of spades, OR is just on a stone-ass-range-advantage-bluff.
    4.) You're just not deep enough to call here. Even if you spike the miracle straight-flush, it's just not worth it.

    I would go all in with the 85s especially with your read of the small blind being too active. I think it's not that good to call so much and then have to check fold most turns (I think you are not getting the odds to call given how likely a turn jam probably is).
    Fold is probably the second best option.
    If you are being raised a lot in this multiway spot maybe in hindsight going for a check call/delayed cbet is better in the first place.
    Anyway I'm not an expert or anything just my thoughts :P

    On the 8/5s hand: I think a jam would take it down. If called you have decent equity against something like A/4c, 3/4d, pocket 7s. With my conservative style I’d probably just call though.

    • @Samdeman90
      @Samdeman90 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jam is marginal but sometimes OK, call is terrible, fold is OK

    • @lankaprince
      @lankaprince 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Samuel Atkins I think if someone is going to play 8/5 preflop then this is the type of flop they want, if folding now then why play 8/5? So for me jamming is best, calling is conservative but with the intention of bluffing turn, folding would be rare. Generally 8/5 is not in my preflop range, unless I’m playing almost every hand type of night.

    • @Samdeman90
      @Samdeman90 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lankaprince The problem with just calling the 3-bet is that we aren't deep enough to generate fold equity on the turn. 1000 sounds like a lot, but it'd only be 2/3 pot on the turn.
      Also, this is one of the rare cases where being in position does us a disservice. What if we call the flop, and then the villain open jams the turn? We're stuck calling off our whole stack with eight high and only one guaranteed clean out. Barf.
      No. The best time to bluff shove is clearly the flop. Or we could just fold and move on without risking another 1400 in a spot that is dicey at best.

    Feels like trip 4s with an Ace, a better flush draw, or just maybe a FH. You're combo draw is great, but if Spade hits you may well be dead.
    Good spot to fold IMO... Harder to do so when the cards and chips are in front of you.

    On that last hand where you had the AJ in spades and your opponent had the Q8 in clubs. You said that there was a possibility that you could have gone for value on the river, but if you had, the way the betting had went the way he was checking in the dark and supposing you bet the river for value and he then shoves All In what then?? Because he showed weakness on two of the streets would that make it an automatic call for you or would you then possibly feel that the weakness that was shown was all part of an elaborate trap?? Obviously you checking behind is going to be the safest play, but I was just curious about what you would have done if the hypothetical situation that I presented had happened.

    I think bet fold is ok in the 8-5s hand, maybe its too passive but if you're playing 8-5 you need to have some bet folds to keep from being too spewey. I get it though, if you fold that flop you really need to fold pre, its a pretty good flop for your hand overall. Just have to think people might be more likely to be waiting to try to pick you off with monsters if you're being overly aggressive and have that image of someone who's losing and trying to make something happen.
    Just finished watching the video, I guess overbet jam works too :)

      The Shoop the desire to win, and not accept a loss. Walking a way doesn’t have an immediate impact on those desires. Coupled with the confidence or over confidence of being able to “handle” playing on tilt

    Hello Andrew. I say you should just flat call with the 8-5 of spades. Your opponent I figure may already have flopped tripps or has top pair with another six. He just might even get better on the river if he pairs the board giving a full boat. However, you do have good value. You have a gut-shot straight including the straight flush. Your outs are even better with nine spades out there. You have 13 outs and I would have just called to see the river because you are already pot committed at this point. Just my opinion. You just have good value if you have twelve outs or more.

    I paused the video and though for quite some time and it is really a shit spot to be in and I kinda hate all options. I feel like we should minimize our pf error by folding this one and finding better spots unless you have some live intangibles that flip it to a jam but man I just am not feeling like we have that much fold equity and we could be toast with some of his holdings. Call me a nit but I let it go and curse myself under my breath for playing this pre.

    Before I finish the video I want to comment on your straight flush draw. $500 dollar raise on the flop is tough. A fold feels a weak and very tight. A call leaves you with a about a pot size bet behind and if you don't hit on the turn it would be tough to continue as I would fully expect your opponent to continue betting. I think I would raise in that position. Lots of equity and I would rather put pressure on him/her than have it all on me after the turn.

    85ss hand... On the flop it was either fold or jam. No flat. If the turn is a brick, he's gonna be barreling, and you're less likely to call, so you just lit your flop call on fire. He's representing a 4 so if you're good with the equity, jam. If not, let it go

I believe that a fold would have been The Prudent thing to do just to keep your head in the game, had it gone the other way can you run into pocket sixes he's not going away and the chances of you hitting that seven a Spades is so remote I don't feel that it was worth the risk are the circumstances that you're encountering in that game. However you are an amazing poker player and you did make an amazing bet that did win the pot... Beautifully played
