Hah, not even private schools do any better. All they do is tell ya a bunch of terminologies without any context then tell you to make an artwork demonstrating the lesson. Us being a bunch of kids with no foundational knowledge of even the bare bones of art it obviously never ended well. That coupled with one of us being an actually gifted artist in our class (well not really, she was just the only one who actually knew how to do art) made us feel even worse about our own skills.
In public schools they will never go in depth of a student's drawings, they teach you as a whole and move on from one thing to another and some students might still lack knowledge in that field that they were being taught. In art schools they see each student as a whole. It's more of a slow process but it's the right process they will progress slow but teach you all the fundamentals before moving on to the complex materials. This dude also did a great job explaining most of the things and remember that many people who exel are self-taught. Goodluck and stay motivated. 👍
Because of this vid, I actually realized that it's totally okay if you can't copy it very very accurately detail by detail. It's actually so frustrating when you can't copy every exact detail, but I guess that is what makes everyone's outcomes unique and their own.
drawing the feel of the thing like grass could help drawing the exact details of grass is hard trying to copy the pattern texture and common shapes would help its like adding a new brush to ur inventory
Very good to know. I try to remember this whenever I start to draw a picture. An acquaintance who loves to draw will always start with basic shapes first too. I think this technique is useful to break a drawing down because you feel more confident to put all the pieces together to create a realistic picture.
I appreciate how you deconstructing various objects and things. I would love to see more videos of you deconstructing items. I think it would definitely help beginners to see all the various items and also get them in the right frame of mind! Well Done Sir!
I was also told if multiple objects are there in one scene...we should draw lines along the borders of these objects just to map there position in the composition
I tried the shoe and the bird before you told us how to do it. Made a pig's ear of the shoe, but I thought of the bird as a semi-circle at an angle then everything else fell into place. I did a sketch before you told us how to do it. Love the concept.
Thank you for this shape codruction video. I tried a lot of other strategies of constructing things with shapes but havent really worked for me but this one works pretty much perfect for me :)
Thank you so much. I now understand breaking down into shapes and then constructing. I will apply this technique. I have had trouble from the beginning getting my proportions correct.
I watched another video of yours and I've shared that one as well as this one on Pinterest. I think this is the best video for me to start with. Thank you.❤
Sir, you have such a positive vibe going on there. Loving' it! Great touch with that music while speeding up the process. Very, very professional production! Keep it up! :)
"theres a bit of information right in there!" 😅 This lesson was very valuable. I feel like a can draw anything now, You make it look so easy. But im sure as soon as I pick up a pencil i Will just poke My self in the eye or something..
Thank you for making drawing simple via your explanations. Clouds, clothes and grasses are also difficult to draw they dont have basic shapes, ı think. You also have fabric video I will watch it either. :)
I have learned more in this 20-minute video about drawing than I did with years of "art" classes in public schools.
Me too
I guess because its a public school:D
Public school art classes do everything in their power to avoid actual drawing

Me too!

It was actually mind-blowing for me when he didn't draw the rectangles perfectly from the beginning
The importance of these concepts cannot be overstated. This is a video to watch over and over again.
I like that he says, "You may see different shapes and that's fine too." Great teacher!
Excellent example on smaller details for a closer rezalt to a finished project
I’m SO glad I found this channel. It’s wonderful, my 12yo daughter and I love it! Thank you SO much for this great work!

These videos are great for beginners the best thing is that for a simple concept he actually uses simple examples that beginners can register
Thanks 🙏🏾 !
This is exactly what I needed. This is the technique I always use in 3D modeling but I never got to learn this in drawing.
That animation of that house being built was amazing!
