I know this performance and hence the writing of this song is over two years old now, but I became familiar with this song in the last few months (and heard about Song Suffragettes within the last week) through hearing Josh Abbott Band and Carly Pearce's version of it on SiriusXM The Highway. So to now see it here, performed by one of the writers of the song, is pretty cool. Congratulations, Emily, on the success of the song :-)
I understand that as a writer selling your song is a good way to make money if you're not making it on your own. I honestly feel this is more powerful from her perspective over a duet any day. I love the song regardless, keep writing.
Man she rocks.. so much emotion wish she'd kept this one for herself Josh Abbott sounds good but she blows him away if you ask me. .. Way better with a woman's emotion behind it... and her voice is awesome!
