I think the Abra line are covered in fur, that's why their moustaches are the same colour.
Azurill's tail is supposed to be fat I think, that's why they have Thick Fat as one of their abilities. The wire thing is weird, though.

Azuril floats, he is hollow(-ish), and his tail is hollow(-ish) that's my headcannon. And since everything is bouncy/rubery, that makes his tail-cotnecting appendage a soft flexible garden hoose. You're welcome. Also, the ball only needs to be 1/2 as bouncy, since the upper part also bounces. As to why, idk. To see futher?

I always liked vague, abstract pokemon. The ones where you cant tell quite what they are. Like slowpoke or absol.

-Alakazam's anatomy reminds me a lot of the chimera ant Welfin from Hunter x Hunter where he has like a wolf head and limbs but everything in between is an insect
-My gripe with Pokémon design is a clash between them being the ecosystem of the world so they fulfill the role of flora and fauna yet a lot of them are born with clothes and tools, so those are supposed to be made of flesh
-I think Rellor has moved its consciousness into the dung ball while the husk is carrying it through psychic means

His stomach works as partial second face, in the cards we see that he breaths and uses moves through his stomach. He sees through the eyes on his head, he expresses himself and uses moves through the face on his stomach. So everything a face does besides seeing is done on his belly

I've had these exact thoughts, Largely due to my aphantasia. The spatial tendencies that can come with it drive me to these questions, because a lot of texture/movement issues annoy me.
But for me, my conclusion are as such:
The Abra line is largely about conserving nutrients, because brainpower takes so much energy. (Just look at how canonically withered Mega Alakazam is)
The tail atrophies as the creature evolves, going from fleshy, to lean with fluff as a counterbalance, then drops entirely as Alakazam gains a full stature.
I think only the brown areas are more like pachyderm skin than chitin, (seeing as how it moves and connects to the body) and the thick yellow areas are just cushioned fat and soft tissue, as they can change during the mega form, to better facilitate brainpower.
The mustache is probably just a normal stache, but they use a bit of psychic power to keep it groomed out of convenience.
Granbull's outer fangs are not actual fangs, but an extra set of jaw protrusions- we see its actual teeth right there, as a separate color.
Considering its pre-evo has an extra set of ears and the flesh skirt, this line is probably just prone to extra growths that are easier to exhaserbate via selective breeding. Heck, it could be a modified second entire *jawbone*.
Snubbul COULD have some weird extra jawbone stuff going on under its jowls, you don't know.
And mandibular tori of some form aren't even that uncommon in general. YOU could have extra jawbone.
As for Rabsca, well, with the reproduction thing, I chalk it up to the PC storage system rewriting a lot about pokemon once they're captured. After all, they stop displaying a LOT of natural behaviors, are instantly domesticated, and start having a lot of behaviors, qualities and stuff.
I mean, if society is going to let a six-year-old have a venomous bee monster the size of a German Shepherd, they're probably going to edit the code a bit, if given the opportunity.
So wild Rabsca reproduce one way, but once digitized into the Pokemon Storage System, they can be bred in the Daycare, if their new qualities permit. Hence why Mr. Pokemon was freaking out over pokemon eggs back in Johto when the PC system was fairly new. (though gen 2 got retconned, as that was when the series was moving away from Pokemon being set in basically just the real world)
Mr. Mime got better with Mr. Rime- its an arctic derived creature now, so those are like a cetacean's fin. Cartilage and blubber. Still freaky AF but there you go.
And Azurill's tail actually is somewhat practical, as it serves as a decoy. A lot of caterpillars have fake eyespots that make their rear look like a head, and many lizards have false tails that can drop, and even wriggle around to distract predators.
The tails serve a function of storing nutrients and aiding in floatation and mobility for a young little creature, but if attacked, this critter basically has a 50/50 shot of living to see tomorrow, with only a small wound, some buoyancy and a nutritional deficit. Not a bad deal, considering that these seem to be a fairly social species.

Surprised he didn't mention the fact that those yellow dots on Mr. Ryme are a second pair of eyes...

Based on how it looks in Detective Pikachu I think the thing on the Mimes heads are, like, horns or something

I think Alakazam and it's prevos are a conglomerate of occult and superstitious stuff. You named everything it appears to be based off of: a magician, a goat, and a fox.
Magicians are. Well. Magic and this tied to supersticians.
Goats are tied to satanic imagery, but also a sacrificial animal which is again tied to superstition.
Foxes are so wrapped up in supersticians in Japan with their connection to kitsune that its not even funny.
We have two furry animals as inspiration, and goats are somewhat known for their beards and facial hair. I don't think that the moustaches are so much made of flesh, as that Alakazam is covered in fur, and its moustache is the same colour as its fur.
I need Alakazam to have hair. I need most pokemon to have hair. We couldn't draw the individual hairs on a Gameboy and it wasn't efficient for the anime either. Modern pokemon games struggle to draw four trees at once. But do you REALLY want to live in the pokemon universe where all the animals have a rubbery-smooth finish? Imagine petting your Pikachu and it has the same texture as a toilet plunger. No thanks.

I 100% agree! I really wanted to talk more about alakazam and even planned to talk about some of the things you mentioned but had to cut it short because my computer will struggle to render any video that goes on too long and didn't want to risk it. I wanna make a alakazam exclusive video soon!

Yeah but abra would evolve to lose a tail then get a tail back and that’s weird.
