A similar quick clamp is used on the seat post of bicycles. My recycling yard is always a source on trashed bikes, also "curb treasure" bikes on trash days.
Hi Jaydee, thanks for the comment! That would be awesome to source them in those ways. Just gotta make sure they are M6 to work with our hardware and nut pockets on the connectors
This is a great addition to the Maker Pipe lineup. So many options! 🤯
I'm glad you like the idea Mark! Thanks for the comment!
So cool👏🏻
Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment Shelli!
Is it possible to create a curve out of wood and then secure the EMT against the curve using a clamp to guide the EMT into that shape?
Any possibility that you will make this for 1” to 3/4”?
Hi there, thanks for the comment and question! We actually tested a 1" to 3/4" version but weren't comfortable offering them based on the strength limitations and likely uses that people would have for the larger tubing. With that said, there are options for them if you search for them online.
Also a great way to
Make an awning…
Yeah, that's a great idea! Thanks for the comment Galen!
how much weight can it bear?
Hi there, thanks for the comment and question. We haven't tested them for exact numbers but they just rely on friction fit for both the clamp/knob and the small bolt and nut holding it to the 3/4" side so I would be cautious of using them for anything too crazy. I'd guess that it could support between 50-75 pounds before slipping but I'd recommend to test it for your particular application.
@@MakerPipe thanks.
